Cadwell's Silver/Gold

So, I have Cadwell's Silver in my quest list, having done the main quest. I've not done any of the Ebonheart story quests, just the Prophet/Molag Bal stuff. Cadwell's Silver would send me to the Daggerfall Covenant to do those quests, and that's fine. I expect Cadwell's Gold would send me to the Aldmeri Dominion.

However, while the quest is IN my list, I'm not actually DOING it right now. I'm off on Khenarthi's Roost, where I went to get a treasure chest (from a map). This led me into doing a quest line there, where undead have overrun a temple.

My question is this: If I do this quest on Khenarthi's Roost, one which I expect would normally be part of Cadwell's GOLD, a quest I've not yet acquired, will it break the Cadwell quest? Will I get credit for having done it, even though I did it before Cadwell gave me the Gold quest?

No it’s going to be absolutely fine :)

Once you’ve finished Silver and get given the Good quest line you will simply see that some parts may already be ticked as completed already.

I had 100% zone completion in the base game zones before starting Stirk and it was fine.

You might want to wait until you actually start Cadwell's Gold before you accept that quest, because otherwise the Gold quests might seem a bit disjointed later. I literally did the individual quests in the Main Quest, Cadwell's Silver, and Cadwell's Gold all out of sequence, more or less at the same time, because I was running all over Tamriel without any kind of plan, not even realizing that I was doing quests that-- in theory-- were going to come up later. When I eventually started and finished the Main Quest, then accepted Cadwell's Silver quest, I'd done nearly all of those quests already except for a few that I'd missed while running about. And the same thing happened when I accepted Cadwell's Gold quest-- I'd already done most of them. Things will probably make more sense if you do them in order when it's time to start them.

Cadwell’s Silver and Gold cover the main storylines of your two non-Alliances. So there are 5 or so completion objectives per zone, which follow the main Alliance plot.

They don’t cover any of the side quests. So you won’t lose your place if you do any of these. Although as others have said it might get a bit messy if you start doing lots of side quests in areas you haven’t got to yet.

It’s a fun thing to do, especially if you haven’t already taken a character through the quests before (which I guess is increasingly common as new chapters appear).

    Have fun

I've done all the quests before on other characters, so I won't get disoriented. I was just worried about breaking the Cadwell quests and finding them impossible to advance because the requisite quests were already done.

I've done quests totally out of order with no problem but slight searching for quests still needed to do.

I did lot of misc whatever alliance Tamriel and the Main quest, then whatever was missing from Cadwells. Doing your own alliance is not required for Cadwell's Silver & Gold if I recall right.

No problem at all. You are not obligated to run Cadwell's silver before gold. Play as you like, play as it suits you.

I might be wrong (it was a long time ago when I did it), but isn’t doing your Alliance’s quests up to the end of your 5th zone the prerequisite for starting Cadwell’s Silver and Gold? And seeing that appear separately in your quest log.

Cadwell won’t give you the option of doing them until you have finished your Alliance’s questline.

(Although obvs with One Tamriel you can simply start the other Alliance quests any time, but that’s not really doing Cadwell’s).

Used to be. My latest character hit 50, finished Stonefalls, the stop the planemeld quest, got her soul back, and has the quest to talk to cadwell and start Meridia's tour the other factions quest. I haven't even made it through Deshaan yet. The extra experience for the witches' festival plus the bonus scrolls you keep getting let her level fast.

I could go and start Silver, but I'm stubborn, and the story makes a lot more sense if you do the factions in order.
