Why are the majority of sets just trash?

    I'd have to vote for Para Bellum being the most useless, although I vote for Grave Stake being the most frustrating to use.

    I can't think of a worse one overall. I did once come up with a build where Shalidor's Curse provided more HPS than any other set, so this ones worse

    Maybe Oblivion foe can be part of that bag too, but only if you're running 5 pieces. I run it 4 pieces on a very weird but functional tank, so it's far from being useless.

    With how quickly they made sure that set wouldn't break the game during Soul Trap's brief period of glory, it would be nice if they would now change it to also buff Soul Assault and Soul Shatter. Anyhow not sure it's worth the farm/transmutes but I personally would take 4 piece Ulfnor's for the same effect and a bit more stats, not that I don't like HP Regen in some PvE tank scenarios.

    This tank runs 2k Stam and mag regens and 2.3k health regen, sacrificing basically all resources, but even with only 15k of each, I can still sustain through anything, but no damage, just utility on my bars. 36k health, so not even all that bad. Ulfnor would open glyphs for more resources or maybe would help heal more with polar wind. Not a bad trade off.

    And if all soul skill line got buffed by Oblivion foe, I'm sure at. Least a few people would run that on PvP. Wouldn't be bad, since it's a crafted set.

    Or, just make it so using Soul Trap buffs your total Spell/Weapon damage ala the new 7th Legion. This would make it so Soul Trap was once again being used in PvP without any need to make it stronger than class dots. The unique 2-4 pieces might endear it to some over other weapon/spell buff sets

    Some of the stats on those sets aren't really bad, but the 5-piece set bonus is just utter trash.

    How about making more sets useful instead of pumping more and more sets into the game with each new update?

    Its great that we have so many options for gear. Its not so great that even for a casual player, most of those sets arent very good. Maybe after they get done reworking character classes and the CP system they will have a go at gear sets. I dont see them doing anything before that though. So 2-4 years before gear will be seriously looked at, IMO.

    what might seem like a trash set to you and your playstyle is sometimes a very good set for someone else for their playstyle.

    and there are more than enough good sets to choose from so it really isn't a problem if there are a small handful of duds :)
