Can’t decide between stamplar and stamblade

I have trouble picking one of these two classes. Would like to main one of if those classes and do endgame content plus pvp. Which class will be better and more comfortable for pvp and pve conent in a long run. Also which class has a history of being somewhat safe from nerfs, meaning staying strong despite all the changes. Because I don’t really want to start playing a class that is strong now but the next patch is practically useless. Sorry for my English btw.

Only one way to find out.

Roll one of each and play them. No better time than now, double XP and all that. Playing a week of each should level them to your current max and let you know which one you actually like best.

My experience is I like Templars, my Stam Templar is really fun, I find Nightblades a hard class to play, but I know lots of friends who love them.

Don't let anyone tell you how or what to play. Play your game and have fun.

Stamplar is a lot more fun to play right now IMO. Stamblade can be fun but it lost much of what made it unique in recent updates. Best way to tell though would be to roll one of each and see for yourself.

Both can be fun. I personally hate Templar...because all you see is *stabbing stabbing* just one skill. Blades could be hard to play with a lot of fun. But best way to decide is...play both on your own.

I have stamblade at LvL 37 and stamplar at lvl 34. I have seen the dps nightblade rotation and it scares me, also heard that if you make one mistake then your dps fall a lot. But people say that nightblade is amazing in pvp and that stamplar sucks and that the templar is a “dying breed” that none plays.

But i have so much trouble figuring this game out. Never had any problem in any other game understanding how everything functions and what works best, is meta. But in this game everyone says that some class is op, then the other says that it’s trash. And the constant nerfing and changes made by developers don’t help.

Yep. Better to roll Stamplar imho. You still have access to:
    - Fear via fighters guild skill "Turn Evil".
    - Similar to NB ambush gap closer skill in Dual wield skills "Flying Blade".
    - Invisibility with invisibility potions if necessary.

With that in mind, there is little benefit in choosing stam NB for a class, as there are plenty of substitute skill & ways to get similar effects that were previously a NB class exclusive and a whole reason you wanted to roll NB.

Right now, any other class in its stam variant is better choice imho.

Don't focus on dps. With time your dps rises. Just roll what you like more. If you enjoy the play style you always make more dps. I play a mag necro since release and even with best gear and can't reach the dps of my sorc main (without pets). Learn the rotation and stick with one class long enough to get comfortable with the skills and gear. Dps comes with play time and expierience.

I would feel like stamplar is a solid choice for a main personally.

I’ve played both classes. Even started leveling a nightblade in another faction. Stamblades are great at single target burst, while Stamplar excel more with AoE due to biting jabs. After having a considerable amount of time in both classes, I can say that I think Stamplar is a lot more enjoyable. I’ve just been running around zones killing world bosses, collecting skyshards, doing delves, etc. and I can say that it feels like less of a chore. I was so invested in my Stamplar that I did completed psijic on him for the first time on any of my characters. Before I never wanted to because it was so tedious. I mainly made the character for PvP but now I’m collecting skyshards from all the zones to get more skills from bow and heavy armor tree, along with others. I plan to turn this character into my new main and be able to do any content with him. But like everyone said, just try them out and see which you prefer

If you genuinely wanna get better at the game avoid stamblade lest you fall into the trap of shadowy disguise.

Stamplar in PvP will teach you to use hit and run tactics. LOS, roll dodge and block as your main defensive. Offensively, PotL gives you a very powerful damage multiplier that will focus your skills into a 6 sec burst window.

In PvE the rotation is pretty simple and just requires a fair amount of practice on a DPS dummy.

Also no class is safe from nerfs unless you’re a mSorc. 😉

Love how some basic clueless PVPer just adds an extra magsorc line because they’re conditioned by the forums. I guess magsorcs didn’t get nerfed last patch when pets got nerfed to the ground and shields turned into the shittiest health/Magicka skill without cp investment.

Endgame content I would say both stam classes would work, but for pvp nightblades are mostly leaning on just one OP skill, shadowy disguise. Stamplar recently got some skills and mechanics tweaked and is holding out pretty well. I would say start with a stamplar now since it will let you get used to pvp without being reliant on a single skill.

    PVE:
    • Stamplar has a simpler rotation and has great sustain in Trials, they also have a little higher DPS potential than Stamblade.
    • Stamblade has a more complex, dynamic rotation that is very rewarding when mastered.

    PVP:
    • Stamblade has been rough the last few patches but with the increased duration to relentless focus and the implementation of the new moon acolyte set, stamblade looks and feels how it used to be and is really fun to play solo open world, and even BGs if you're really patient. With shade finally working after forever you can also really juke players out.
    • Stamplar is incredible right now. They have great burst damage and their purge is one of the most useful tools in PVP not only for yourself and for your teammates. It's arguably one of the best stamina classes for PVP right now.
    • Both are meh in terms of group play, but Stamplar definitely brings some very useful utility with POTL and their purge. Repentence is a cool skill that gives you resources from enemy corpses that makes the playstyle really quick to go from one target to the next. You can be creative as a stamblade in groups but it is for sure a primarily solo-play class.

Classes are both completely different in styles of play. Stamblade is the typical rogue class that has some finesse. Stamplar is sort of a warrior/paladin berserker hybrid class in that it has great burst and thrives on fast-paced, kill your opponent quick, repent, on to the next style of play.

I would keep both and level them to max.... just so if one or other does get nerfed you have another class to enjoy.

I main a NB but she is parked at the mo due to the recent nerfs making her a lot less fun to play.... luckily I have other classes that I have levelled otherwise I’d be starting over right now....

If your goal is to play solo and gank players as they ride by on their horse (and run away when your gank fails) then you should be a stamblade.

If your goal is to be a good pvp’er, then be a stamplar.

    Choose your own adventure.

As you can see OP if you wanna farm salt, play nightblade.

    Stamblade here.

Go stamplar for all intents and purposes.

Next year nightblade will be remove from class selection.

    Seriously, I am a nightblade.

We have been nerf so bad I curse the combat dev every time I play.

    Not outloud, mind you.

I haven't played in well over a year possibly 2, whenever summerset came out.

My highest is a 34 stamblade. I really can't tell how to play it. It's sort of confusing and I die a lot and I don't seem to do much damage relative to my squishiness.

So I couldn't play it. I'm not really a fan of templar's in general but can't say I have much advice really. But I can't come back to nightblade as stam build after a long break.
