Can someone teach me how to DPS?

Some time in late December I want to learn how to PVE dps...

I have never gotten passed 20k...I don't know...

I am a stamina templar and usually what happens is the game lags out when I am jabbing and light attacking on a dummy (and other stuff). Then it messes me up... How do you stop that jab lag stuff?
I haven't tried it recenly so I don't know if it's fixed or not...

Can someone show me how to DPS?

Its been probably 3-4 years and I don't have vMoL skin...

I refuse to pay for a free ride...

but I do have to hit the 35k parse or whatever they say when I ask to join...

No it's not enough to show a video...I need to meet up in game...

Oh and I don't want to use BiS armor...isn't it kinda dumb to ask for bis armor when you are going to a trial to farm bis armor?

I play since beta and I dont got any trial skin yet. Just play the way you want, the rest will come. If you want to be top dps, be prepared to treat the game like a fulltime job.

Trial bis armor are easy to get and if you play stamina they are very impactful to your DPS sadly.
Lokkestiz (nSS) + New moon Acolyte (craft) seem to be on way to be the top, both easy to get.
Relequent still strong but only on people who can weave correctly, if not it's not worth it.

That said you can do 30-40k w/o problem with no-BiS armor.
I'm not a DPS main so I probably won't be good enough to teach you, but it mostly about finding a good rotation and learning it.

Try to do one LA between each skill, don't try to cancel-animation yet, just put 1 LA each time, and try little by little to be faster at executing the and rotation.

From what I've read on some other thread their is a good amount of decent DPS on the forum so I'm sur yopu gonna find a good guy to help you.

You've the good mentality to not wanna be carry, keep it ^^

    GL buddy !

    There isn't a quick fix.

Get to a dummy, practice light attacking before you press a skill, and go slow at first to build muscle memory. Speed will come eventually, but it's more important at the beginning to get a rotation down.

Nothing that can really be shown to you, in a video or personally in game, will help you improve the way you push buttons. It's really up to you and your thumbs and a ton of practice.

Best of luck, and keep at it!

20k is the first big wall, on the learning curve, it's right.

I know I'll give advices you already read 20 times over, but here's how I broke it.

    1) constant rotation : apply some dots, then spammable, try to re-apply dots on cooldown. Oftentimes, you won't manage to have 100% uptimes on all dots. It will not prevent you to raise your DPS.

    2) Try to have a light attack goes off between every skills. (AKA light attack weaving). It's real hard, when you don't know, and has it's own timing. When done right, it raises your DPS by --> A LOT <-- . Don't let the light attack animation complete. Cancel it with the next skill in your rotation.

    3) Gold weapons are very, very important. Very much more important that golden armor. Gold your weapon if it's not already done.

    4) Don't forget to keep your weapon's enchants charged.

    5) Use pots to raise your crit% and damage.

    6) wear good sets

With these, slowly, little by little, I finally managed to break the 35k wall. So can you !
    Good luck !
