Let's recap all the BGs problems

1. Infinite loading screens. Enough said.

2. If the teams are 4/3/2, the match wont start just because one team has only 2 players. WHY NOT REBALANCE THE TEAMS ? HUH? Is it that hard ?

3. Facing premade groups. This also destroys the BGs experience. Premade teams destroy everything and there is nothing a team of solo players can do about it. Premade groups should only face premade groups. And if they have to wait longer in order to find 2 other premade groups, so be it, let them wait. That might force them to queue solo. All the top players in leaderboards are premade groups. They have it easy.

4. Don't give players the deserter penalty just because they left when the game was bugged and didn't start. That's adding insult to injury.

Do you see any other BG problems ?

Simple answer: It's ZoS. ZoS doesn't use petty, logical solutions to problems. In fact, they often take these petty, logical solutions as a guide on how not to address problems.

This morning I entered a BG match: 4 greens, 3 reds and 1 purple (me). The 45 seconds countdown started right away and I expected at least 2 more to join my team. The match started and lasted the full 15 minutes (cause reds were camping up their base) but through the whole time nobody joined my team...

    1. They don’t work - I can’t get in them and if I can, it’s almost never 4v4v4

    2. Matching is atrocious. Not fun for anyone except bullying sadists

    3. I can’t fight my friends. I am way less interested in fighting Joe Blow from Idontknowwhere than I am in battling my mates.

    4. Stupidly steep learning curve. I can’t choose a game to master or a specific map to play on, which means in addition to being constantly killed, I have almost no idea of where I am and what I am supposed to be doing. Absolutely nothing that encourages new players to participate.

    5. Almost no players. Demand for BGs must be low if ZOS won’t let us choose a map or a specific game and the matchmaking is so rubbish.

I would like to have BGs which could be self-run. Just like trials. So me and my mates could form 3 teams (of 2, 3 or 4 players each) and bash the hell out of one another. No rewards, no titles, no AP, or XP, no toxicity, just fun battles in a game and map of our choosing.

BGs, they could actually be good.... if only

I agree with all this, except #4. You can actually queue for specific game types. You don't always have to play random games.

Now only if that new and improved group finder was actually improved...😖

But you can’t choose a specific game. You can only choose a random flag game or a random killing game. How do I get better if my first few games are all different on different maps? Why would I want to go back? What if I really like one option, but really hate chaosball? It’s a massive disincentive and an indication of low population and interest.

I’d be way happier with 3v3v3 (or even 2v2v2) and being able to play against my friends, do the games I want and choose specific maps than the current system.

Another problem, MMR isn't shared across all characters. That means that even if solo players are queued against another solo players, skill difference can be extreme if some top BG player enters with an alt character that has never been in BGs before.

Earlier today I got placed in a Below 50 BG as my CP700 character. I left pretty much immediately so I didn't get a screenshot but.. yeah, another one for the list.

Yep I had a round that was similar except one team had zero players at the start, and only got some halfway through the match.
