My dps is not good, compare to some mid-core players , but it's good enough for the contents mentioned in the headline, so i don't use expensive potions, i dont have money ...

If it aint vet, hm or needs me to pick up where other ppl are falling behind I dont use em. Im in a trade guild, mats are money.

Ofc I still outparse ppl using them in those situations, so I'm not sure what the question is here

I like using essence of spell crit getting major sorc from my skills,

Cloudrest +3 and nss ill use them most other things i use trash pots other then the mentioned vet content.

First time through vma i used trash pots was horrible but would have been to expensive otherwise.

Of course not. Trash pots all the way. I don't hit super high numbers, but my dps has been fine for doing speedrun, hardmode, and no-deaths at the same time in vet dlc dungeons.

I just use trash white potions or crown potions from log in rewards to help sustain, but the extra damage is rarely needed.

The options on the poll are biased, It could had done well with a simple yes and no, but anyhow yes I use spell/weapons pots
since I craft them myself and I might only need to pop one once depending on how the healer is managing the orbs, Craglorn is full of LFG first timers and sometimes keeping up ones buffs helps a lot.

I use trashpots in such cases. I have ton of mats to make proper pots, but really dps difference is very small (~2k at iron atro) if you have other sources for major brutality/major sorcery. In vDLC trials those 1-2k matter, so there I use best pots by default.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I use crown pots while leveling. (Past tense, perhaps -- my 17th character hit Level 50 this morning.)

Beyond that, I generally use trash pots if I'm planning to chug them, or expensive pots if they're emergency-only. Sometimes I chug expensive pots in particularly tough content.

Expensive pots are often health/magicka/immovability. Immovability can be particularly important while rezzing.

I know they’re trying their best but you can’t expect everyone to be a top DPS machine so if I’m still trying to help them pass I got to carry some damage. For normal trials it is a waste since it is far from needed. For vet DLC dungeons it really depends. If it is newer and we are figuring it out, yes, if we have it on farm I only use it on the more challenging dungeons.

In other words, easy stuff, and many DLC dungeons are easy, no.

For overland I'll slot the stupid health potions trash mobs give.

For dungeons, trials, etc., I craft my own, usually a health + whatever I think will help (often stamina)

    Same for poisons.

The only time I'd use a pure weapon damage potion would be if I'm VERY confident in the content and healer.

For normal trials , I use alliance war weapon damage potions since FoO gives me weapon crit on one bar.

It doesn't matter if I lack the %10 crit on back bar since my dps is well above whats needed to clear that kind of content.

I only use expensive potions when I actually care enough to tryhard honestly. This also applies to PvP. Potions are a huge part of any builds potential.

Just farm WBs while you wait in queue and you'll never have to worry about when/where you use spell damage pots because you'll have plenty of gold to buy as many as you could ever need.

I love dungeons but the queue always takes forever so I just started farming WBs and now I don't ever have to worry about gold. lol
