Can we please get a state of the game update (serious)

Going to make this as constructive as possible to avoid being silenced... At what point does the paying customer base deserve some sort of update on the state of the game from the management team? How much do we have to spend on subscriptions and crowns before management feels obligated to sticky a simple game update. Aside from a quick shout out by Matt on EU server performance, when was the last time he posted anything about what the team plans to do moving forward to fix the servers, lag, dungeon finder, BGs, Cyrodiil, quarterly nerfs, and bugs?

In my line of work we treat our customers like honored guests. We realize that most folks that do business with us do not have a lot of disposable income. We realize our guests have real world problems in their lives and it is our job to treat them in a way that they feel valued and appreciated regardless of the noise in their lives. Yes we ultimately need to turn a profit like any other business entity, however it is not in spite of them. If we treated our guests like this management team has the last several years we would be out of business fairly quick. Above all else though we treat our guests with respect because it’s the right thing to do. I treat our guests as I wish to be treated.

So ZOS do you value us? Are we expendable or are we an integral component of your business model? A simple post letting us know you care and you recognize the feedback goes such a long way. I will invest in a product I believe in and a product that has a solid team behind it. Sadly I no longer believe either apply. Please do better

I think there is a growing number of people that feel pretty blah about the game and the direction it is heading along with the lack of communication. I don't know if this will get shut down by the mods but I do agree with you on your points.

An unfortunate point to remember here is that the IP and the development team are ultimately still owned by Bethesda. Not exactly a company currently known to care for their customers.

While I agree with the OP's sentiment, the bigger reality is that ZOS doesn't give a crap about communication or what players feel and they'll milk this dead cow as long as they can.

A question I would love to see answered:

    What is the combat roadmap?
What goals do devs have for combat balance over the next year, and what problems do they aim to tackle? What are they trying to achieve? Ideally, the answer will be a little more detailed than "class identity" or some other buzzword. Are you trying to make x thing less effective in y activity? Are you trying to make players rely more on this or that? What do you want the experience of combat in various activities to be like? Because it's currently radically different every patch, and it would be great to know what the devs' vision for these changes is.

7-day PVP campaign regular 2016-2019, Flawless Conqueror. MagDK/stamplar/stamwarden/mageblade. Requiem, Legend, Knights of Daggerfall. Currently retired from the wars; waiting on performance improvements.

This right here is basically how I feel. I switched back to FFXIV a few weeks ago once my sub on here ran out. The game is not perfect but the developers listen and respect the player base. SE knows how to nerf and buff abilities. Something ESO's crew has no idea how to do.

Also, Final Fantasy XIV is a beautiful game. It was also my main game until I came back to ESO in February of this year myself and I loved everything about it.

Up until the debacle that was Fallout 76, Big B actually cared about the players. Otherwise they wouldn't have made so many resources available to modders.

Do you have any idea how diametrically opposed gamers are in their experiences with the game, life choices, and opinions about what makes a game good?

What do you expect Zos's State of the Union Address to say?

"Things are going pretty good! Millions of players worldwide are joining us in Tamriel and I just put my great great great grandkids through college thanks to Crown Crates!"

Funny... one of the reasons they kept their version of the gamebryo engine so unlocked was to be nice to players and let them have (nearly)full access to the game files and script engine.

There are actually several very good reasons to lock all that crap up. They, in every capacity, will have more difficult development and spend more to keep the engine that unlocked to the end-user.

That said this is ZOS, not Bethesda and they do give state of the game addresses quite regularly. Communication is one of those tricky things where no one is ever going to be satisfied. They could put a webcam over every dev's shoulder and people would still complain that they aren't communicating what they are doing well enough.

Let me guess, they'll either close your thread or pretend it doesn't exist. Like the multiple other negative posts talking about the same problems that they haven't addressed. They're simply aware and would like us to keep paying our subs until they come up with more excuses in 2020

Very well put, I'm not sure if they have given this any consideration. I'm afraid that the focus has been quarterly revenue and no one, no one has had the guts to even consider how the existing playerbase experience the actual enjoyment of the (or lack of it) game.

ZOS like many other MMO dev teams simply couldn't care less about us. This is the result of a unregulated industry. There are no consumer protection laws for gamers. And companies like ZOS are abusing that fact big time.

The only thing we gamers could possible do to change such things. Is to do some heavy lobbying behind politicians. To pass laws to give us gamers some consumer protection. Like most others get. Anything less than that is pointless banter that the company nor the game industry will hear.

You want change? While you are going to have to fight for them! Until you commit to such. Just shut up and keep taking it!

Or just cancel eso plus, and not buy anything in crown, that’s something we can do, and it only hurts the company and if they still don’t care that they got no budget then it means they really don’t care about the game either.

They would first actually have to have a handle on what exactly is going on and where they plan to go in order to give us one of these. Last two updates more than demonstrated they still haven't figured it out
