Was this ever a consideration?

Hey guys!

So I love this game. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Beta. But I do have a bit of a gripe.

Let me preface this by saying that I entirely blame the devs for this. They keep pumping out incredible DLC packs with great characters (BRING BACK MY DA****** GA*******, dangit! Shouldn't have read that bloody journal ******** left at the Palace. x((((((((() that are a lot of fun. However...

That being said, I feel like the Player base is getting too large. NOT a bad thing, even if I am a solo player, as it is just a sign of this game's incredible popularity.

But I do miss the solo play of Skyrim and other games, especially when I am in interior locations. Why?

1. When playing a stealthy character, I can slow down, take my time, and trust that the 'boss' will still be there at the end of the road.
2. Regarding stealth, I wouldn't have to worry about other characters breaking mine. Many is the time I tried to sneak past them (and I refuse to use Shadow Cloak, as I feel like with time and patience, I can sneak through every area, with concentration, and within reason) and get caught up in an enemy's AOE and get damaged when they weren't even attacking me. Is that even possible?
3. Regarding general play, when other players kill the enemies you are attacking when you aren't at low health. I'm doing just fine on my own, thanks. I have an inner monologue asking why they assumed they'd steal my XP when I initiated the attack.

There are a lot of reasons why I miss the solo play of interior locations, far beyond these three.

My question is: Have the Devs ever considered the option to allow players to Solo ALLL Delves that aren't marked as 'Group'? If so, why wouldn't it implemented? If not, why not? It would encourage players to Group Up more to tackle these things, and give solo players the option to Solo it if they wanted to.

Does anyone remember Guild Wars? Different game, yes, but when I tried it out, I seem to remember being in a World of One when leaving the cities.

A lot of this is contrary to the nature of an MMO.

I'm assuming you have already, but running the DB and TG dailies will instance you into a solo delve area with the express purpose of sneaking/assassinating. Could be an effective way to help with points 1 and 2.

Regarding point 3, I think it probably depends on context. If you're solo'ing a WB for instance, then the player may need it complete a quest or a daily.

    Yes, I know.
But it would still be fun to at least be given the option, even if most players would choose not to accept such.

Regarding Point 3, it wouldn't matter if each solo delve was it's own instance. I'm guessing that would be incredibly complicated and time-consuming to implement at this stage?

Outside of events that have delve Bosses dropping goodies, delves are not all that crowded. I RP that all the other players are just NPCs on a different scripts that are not killable. I spin it as the neutral workers who don't need to be killed.

I do not think technically it would be good for the servers to have to instance delves by themselves.

Now, what they should do is, give Dungeons a Story mode so that they are soloable, but still challenging and not give Monster drops. Dungeons are instanced anyway, so this would not burden the servers more than they are now.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I don't know much about the coding side of thing but I guess solo delves would be a nice option, but I know a lot of people like to run the content in groups, which is more in-line with the multiplayer nature of the game, so I guess it'd need to be something you could switch on or off.

With a lot of the problems at the moment (I'm glad I'm not on PCEU) I think it's probably unlikely.
