Why did they kill Trap Beast?

50% reduction to an ability that takes time to cast, requires somebody or a monster to pretty well step directly on it, AND only affects 1 enemy... why?

A nerf, I could maybe understand, but 50%? Might as well just press delete on the ability.

    I'd just stop questioning the decisions ZoS makes, if you value your sanity. Could spend all day trying to wrap yourself into a pretzel trying to understand what the actual *** ZoS is doing.

    I guess so, because even for the sake of balance, this is beyond heavy handed.

    I'm fully convinced they just punch in random numbers into skills boxes and wish for the best :|

    It's a shame that unlike most abilities in the patch notes they don't even put commentary of why they've done it.

    What makes you think he isn’t just saying Yes to his boss to keep his job? Working in gaming industry is all luck and networking connections. Sometimes you have to go along with terrible ideas of senior devs and try to doublethink you’re way into it.

    Then again, maybe he lost all common sense he showed in his videos upon being hired.

    If it's been killed, why does every build use it? Even mag builds?

    I guess the simple answer is that any class has access to it... but a 50% damage reduction is nothing to scoff at, that's huge.

    Not to mention passive from FG are mainly why people would slot this regardless. I don't see this as really viable for a mag toon, many better things to slot. Being the only offensive ability with Minor Force is to be considered, but not worth dumping other abilities on mag toons.

    Its actually not that bad...Damage wise it is. But its also not that bad for dmg

    Indeed, but when you think about it..it's way harder you get somebody into your trap in PvP or even PvE than casting entropy from far away. Homogenization of single target dots is a bad idea, some of them are way easier to apply than other...

    Must be due to that awesome 2 second immobilize that actually does more harm than good by immediately granting the target 6 seconds of cc immunity.

    People like to talk about DS and other high profile abilities getting nerfed, but this is the nerf that made me stop and think the “person flying the plane doesn’t have a license”.

    Root immunity is different from hard CC immunity.

    That is why on top of the DoT trap have additional strong features. Damage of abilities was standarized but secondary effects are still different between different skills. And no it's not that hard to get enemy into it. And if You want to make it even easier You can use second morph.

    PETA was offended by this ability. Free Range Warrior's Furry will be replacing it.

    Yeah, what, about 18-20k reduction there? I guess it's needed, but not that freaking much. Damn. Well, but to be fair. They killed many other skills as much. Shriveled prune toons..

    what does the bold even mean? the dot from trap is a still really good and it provides all the benefits you said, hardly "killed" bruv.

    and the dot is really good yet, 18 seconds is nothing to scoff at, it is the longest lasting stam dot in the game, and it provides everything you said there.
