At the least, it should scale with the amount of skills you actually change.

Should be free, cost to respec at all is greedy and imo quite insane lol.

I don’t think it should be free as the game needs gold sinks, but it should be a flat rate like when you change your CP. I don’t get why people are being penalised for collecting more skyshards.

As for every update, yeah a skill respec scroll would be fair.

It should be free, or if not free as a gold sink channel, more reasonable.
People should be able to respec and build and rebuild and test different combinations on the go.
Yeah, this is greedy move to sell respec tokens from the shop. Those kind of a little slimy things can make population pretty disgruntled.

I'm one of those that chooses skills based on what they LOOK like. In other words, it can cost me a fortune when I take a skill, and its morph is inexplicably butt-ugly, covering me with magma, or floating spikes or randomly turns me into a floating heart (seriously, what's THAT about?).

    So, yeah. Make them cheaper.

I'd settle for a respec scroll for each character after each update, but cheaper respecs would allow us to test skills for a while to see how we like them. If that's deemed too strong, then I'd even be ok with cheaper respecs that reset the xp of the skill to 0.

*remembers when skill respec could cost up to 100k gold*

    Nah, it's fine as is.

I wouldn't mind a per-skill-point cost, for those times when you need to switch only 1 skill (not a morph) but still have to pay 20k for it.

I definitely feel like cheaper respecs would align with their whole "play as you want" slogan thing.

I do agree that I doubt Zos will make this free. At least for everyone as they might make it an ESO+ perk.

I quoted you because I think you make a good point that those of us with more SP on our characters are punished with respect costs. it should be a flat rate as it makes more sense.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I know you get tagged a lot but this idea Matt presented makes a whole lot of sense and a flat rate for respect should be implemented. Totally logical and rational.

    100% agree with flat rate.

Shouldn't have to pay to beta test ZOS updates.

Throw this gold sink somewhere else.

I thought it was already very cheap to respec your skills, did they change something? In the past the costs were much higher.

It wouldn't be so bad if it only charged you for the points that you swapped/removed from placement, rather than charge you the entire amount for a few changes. It's ridiculous to spend well over 10k because I no longer need the research points in crafting which can only be removed with the full respec cost.

    + a grazillion

And there should be an easy mechanic to do this, and change your CP, attributes and gear.

This would encourage people to develop variations of their character for PvE, PvP, solo, group, DPS, Tanking and Healing.

Other than the time it would take to implement this, I don’t see a change like this affecting ZOS’s bottom line in any way.

At endgame, when I’ve got all the skills, it’s really usually a case of being annoyed that dungeon X needs morph A, while trial Y needs morph B. But with PvE and PvP, it makes an enormous difference.

If I have bought a skill I should be able to choose which ones and which morphs to use.

Oh, and you want gold sinks?

Make more interesting furniture, motifs, gold jewellry and mounts available to buy with gold. Double stock the Golden and the weekly furniture guy.

I’ll happily (well not that happily, maybe more very contentedly) spend 25 - 50k on cool statues or 150 - 250k on gold jewels without batting an eyelid, but I get really angry having to spend 20k to respec my skills. Especially if I have to go to some crappy shrine in downtown rubbishhold just to do it.

Don’t f**g over your playerbase by roadblocking their game choices.

After the last big patches it was always 1 week free, so I don't think they have to make it cheaper. It was way more expensive back in the day where you just could reset all of them instead of just paying for the ones you actually change.
