As long as I play this game I will stay subbed. However depending on the direction this game goes over the next quarter I may stop buying extra crowns, or even quit entirely for that matter. Not only has performance been too [snip] for too long, it is continuing to get worse and if these performance updates they keep pointing to don’t materialize, it’s gonna be time to find another game for me.
day one PSN drop player here I have a few guild banks across a couple accounts. so I don't need a craft bag.
-It was the fix for not having a craft bag in the early years-
I pay for eso+ when I need crowns to buy a dlc
I buy chapters only after price drop ($20 for Elsweyr)
After seeing what the new devs are doing to the combat system I don't see me buying any DLC in the near future
Plus these last few dungeons are just super long boring treks for no reason from boss to boss. A horse ride across Cyrdill is shorter.
plz somebody for the love of the gods tell me why they thought giving the sorcs 1 and a half healing abilities was a good idea. One of them has to be double bared and the other is a skill passive. How does that make a healer?
No, since crown gifting I only paid for the two chapters, everything else by the gift system (which could be seen as "indirect pay", before someone corrects me). However, discords seem dead/locked now, and also zones are empty of sellers, so looks like that was it for "free stuff". Crown to real money and crown store rate is insane so that is out of the question.
I cancelled a few weeks ago, but my sub actually runs out in March (paid for a year). I'm not going to re-sub until they stop this train wreck of yo yo balance swings and also the constant nerfs to everything that has killed my progression all year. I'm tired of my classes and skills being less fun and more tedious to use. I really hope things start to change for the better, but if they don't, some other game will get my sub money come March. I've been looking into some.
I've been an ESO fan for several years now. ESO+ for the majority of those years as well, probably 99% of the time I have had ESO+. I primarily played BG's on a stamina warden, until Dragonhold. The class is completely revamped from an in your face brawler to some weird range bleed nonsense with essentially no CC's for stamina. That, I was trying to figure out and adjust to if possible, even after the crowns I spent on skill lines wasted. However, the main reason I even got on the forum tonight is because I can't even play the game. This isn't some stretch of words, I LITERALLY haven't been able to get into a single BG for the last 30 minutes. Just constant neverending loading screens. I don't have the luxury of working at Zos and napping all day. When I get home I want to use my free time for enjoyment and relaxation, instead it's just constant frustration with this game. Even when I'm not stuck on a loading screen, I have the chance to load into a bugged BG session and get looped back into loading hell after a 5 minute breather from loading screens. At this point, Zos should be compensating me.
I've never subbed, but I bought a bank npc and the Elsweyr dlc when it was 50% off. I haven't been playing long, but they said starting next Jan they'll fix the game optimization etc. Not convinced it will work because they fixed the mount stamina running out and not decreasing speed, and then next update the bug is back again.
I feel like its clear the game is being run by 'business' people (not gamers) who are sucking the lives out of designers and developers alike, , but I go along with it because, all my friends play, and I need a low stress game (pve) for while I'm sick.
I pay and will continue to do so for a while at least. Gaming is the thing my husband and I spend most of our free time doing, so it's also what we spend most of our pocket money on.
I'm not happy about the constant login issues, but I live in hope that that will improve. Frankly I'd rather they focussed on that for a while, before adding any more new content.
I don't usually buy crown crates because I don't like the randomness aspect, but I do spend crowns on housing, furniture, pets and mounts if there's something really cool. It would take a lot for me to stop subbing, mainly because the craft bag is pretty crucial to me.
I started in the closed beta in 2013, and have kept ESO+ almost the whole time. I never buy crowns, and still have a pile of crowns from when I subbed.
But the game has changed over the years. The focus on the cash shop and the constant turmoil every few months was too much for me. When they introduced gambling in the crates is when I started to lose interest.
I've been here since the start, always paid and recently saw for myself the reason why I'm going to continue to do so........
I finally persauded my Husband to start playing alongside me, he doesn't currently have ESO+, damn I swear we spend more time managing his inventory than we do actually playing!!
It's not as if he hasn't fully unlocked available bank and bag space either, I paid for those upgrades as soon as he started!
When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!
Yes, After working all day putting up with traffic/commuting, the BS at work and just dealing with the real world grind (hell, I still can't get my own IT support group to fix the communication between my work computer and the office printer...really!!) I look forward to logging in every night, chilling with my guildies, running trials and/or dungeons for gear, collecting mats or starting a new toon.
Granted ESO has its shares of problems with bugs and glitches but it's still entertaining. I enjoy the stories, quest, the lore and the amount of activities to be had. Just started the new DLC and I'm only a couple hours into the main quest and I'm having a great time with it, even thou last night I was kicked several times by the infamous blue screen death while playing Dragonhold, no big deal, I logged back in and I was off and running.
In my first 2 years, 2015-17 I didn't pay for subscription since it didn't have all the perks it has today, and also I wasn't certain about the game future; also content release seemed to be pretty irregular - they paused for 9 months between Shadows of the Hist and Morrowind to do a couple of general gameplay updates. Back then I used to buy crowns when they were discounted and buy the DLCs when they were on sale - got the first 4 as a pack for 4.5K crowns. But after 2 years I decided to subscribe because all the inventory management minigame was getting ever more complicated, and content was being released regularly. Yearly recurring subscription and chapter purchases - basic version, no frills - is the only expense I make. I've never bought crowns separately since I started subscribing in August 2017.
I play more or less daily, but the recent technical issues have been getting on my nerves a bit. They've been offering a sub-par experience to EU players for a long time now, at least 1.5 years - higher lag (yes, even for people living near the server), and higher downtime due to hardware failures. They've also haven't been entirely honest about the reasons. NA seems to be down/inaccessible/congested far less. It's probably penny pinching but that will cost them more in the long run, because people will move on. But the accountants will be happy at the end of the year, when they draw the line, because they save a few hundred thousand bucks by not replacing that broken server blade that kept trowing sparks in the technical room
Beta tester since February 2014, played ESO-TU October 2015 - August 2022, currently on an extended break

I never paid before, but I am/would be considering paying.
However, given the current state of the EU server, and the apparent lack of interest on the developers'/management's side to fix the ongoing issues, as well as their lackluster communication when things go awry, I just don't want to give them any money (be it crowns or even a subscription) at the present time. Once/if they fix these issues? Sure - I think ESO is a pretty cool game and does a lot of things right, and I'd definitely not hesitate to pay to get access to all the DLCs that I have not played so far. But what's the use of having access to some content, when ultimately you cannot play it, due to constantly recurring serverside problems...
Undecided, but for reasons that have nothing to do with what the OP is talking about.
It's mainly because I've woken up to the fact that I've been exploited by this company and will continue to be exploited unless I put my foot down. I've already gone halfway with that. It's just a matter of letting my other shoe drop. This latest content expansion is the test. And, well... considering I couldn't really play it yesterday with all the crashes it isn't looking promising so far.
To say everything is broken or barely working is an inaccurate statement. Bugs and mishaps happen it's not a perfect world, you guys clearly don't understand game development.
I am an eso + member and I have been for a long time. I will continue to pay I am happy with what I get out the game and excited about what new things are in store for eso. The vocal minority of players who have quit paying you are just a small drop in the bucket compared to the sheer amount of loyal and new eso + subs.
I haven't voted because the option that would apply to me is not there.
I am currently on an active subscription. However, I am reconsidering my continued membership given the rampant issues plaguing PC EU.
If the situation doesn't improve to a significantly better state in January when the next renewal is due, I will cancel my subscription.
I'm already taking a break from the game as it is.

I mean I cant live without the craft bags...however im starting to compare ESO with other games...recently I just watched yesterday wow shadowlands presentation...and I have to say...I quit wow after 15 years of active hardcore player...I am starting to give it a chance to go back now simply for the fact that I have done everything in this game...the only thing I am left to do and will be soon are 3 raid triple achievements and DC fishing area( which takes 2 damn long...we need proper baits!)...ofc there is the pvp rankings but what pvp? the game constantly lags and keeps dropping and bgs are just...well everyone knows.
my point was that I can make a comparison of say just WoW and ESO gives for the same amount of money...not going deep into optimizations and stuff...simply just 1 year of gains on 1 game vs the other...and overall for the same amount of money...and you will start to get depressed when you look at eso...we could had been so much more...instead of this.
