When I first tried the gaem at 2015 I did Bleakrock Isle - Bal Foyen - start of Stonefalls before I quit at lv20. I still find those areas rather depressing.
Daggerfall Covenant starting zones I kind of missed because I made the mistake of getting Summerset & cet bundle from sale before making an DC character. I think I first explored there with a 50lv and that is not the same. Too bad.0 -

Vanilla forests in Glenumbra and Disneyesque Auridion don't look that good after those 5 years but Stonefalls with it's craggy cliffs, volcanoes and coral reef still looks awesome."I bear the cruel weight of certainty. Auridon is too fairytale-like for my taste
Stonefalls is too red & dark
Glenumbra is like fantasy medieval style, which is more my taste.
Plus Daggerfall quest line has Darien
