Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

For future chapters, please don't turn cities into public dungeons or trials

With the last two chapters we've gotten Sunhold and Orcrest as Public Dungeons and Cloudrest as a trial and I feel like those cities would have been better served as quest hubs where you can go and relax rather than instanced areas. If the city needs to be in conflict for some narrative reason I'd prefer something like Velyn Harbor where it's invaded and full of hostile NPCs until you complete a quest and then it's transformed into a hub. If the next chapter is indeed Skyrim I'd hate to see one of its iconic settlements turned into an instance, plus the province has plenty of caves, nordic ruins, etc that would be better off as instanced areas.

I thought Orcrest was amazing as a public dungeon. Probably my favorite public dungeon in the entire game.

Like Falkreath? As much as I love that dungeon I’m still really disappointed that it means we’ll never be able to experience it as a town in the eso setting.

"We have a problem. We have a big city to include in next expansion-Lore reasons"
"Its fine, turn into a big delve (Sunhold,Orcrest) and lock all doors" or "Exclude from DLC and put mountains between the that and main zone (Torval,Corinthe)".

Maormer settled in Summerset (Altmer main enemy)and Ayrenn doesnt care.

On the one hand, Sunhold seems like a waste of great art. On the other hand, we do have Alinor and Shimmerene, so how would having Sunhold too improve our lives much?

    I agree.

I would rather a dungeon be a dungeon and a city be a place for NPCs and Players to hang out and conduct business.

Besides, precious map space is used up for dungeons that were or are cities. Cities should be part of the Overworld. Dungeons part of the Underworld.

Now, we can have a dungeon that looks like a city, but instance it behind a door more like Old Orsinium. Where we have map space and underneath, a dungeon.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This 100%. Falkreath was always my secret bae in Skyrim.

I was kinda hoping Falkreath to Markarth would have been a playable zone... I mean it's still not impossible that happens to Markarth, but Falkreath is lost :(

Coming in Skyrim: Blackreach, turned into a trial. It's actually a mini-trial disguised as a full trial... you'll travel to three Centurion bosses with heinously repetitive and un-skippable mechs that'll turn a 5-minute fight into a 15-minute fight by having them run around the arena while you fight waves of boring adds.

They could still add Falkreath under the new Jarl Working on rebuilding the town and nearby area.

I’m still not over Falkreath being a dungeon. At least give us a story mode so we can take our time and enjoy this beautiful zone. (probably the most attractive zone)

You already have your quest hubs in other cities of same zone. Plz leave at least those public dungeons to us, to poor sods who has weak imagination and so we need actual combat gameplay to enjoy and perceive content. Personally for me public dungeons is best part of overland, I like most of them much more then another empty "city" with 2 quests and 20 closed doors.

I think it may be a way to save time on development of new quests and NPC dialog. For some odd reason I think it is a developer "creative cost-cutting measure" but done quote me on that!

Ok, if ZOS will turn Sunhold and Orcrest in something resembling Skyrim's Whiterun and TES3's Balmora - ok, I agree with your idea. But you know this won't happen. You will have another empty city with 1 guild trader, 2 npc traders, 1 quest and ton of locked doors.

Yes. I also would like to see futures chapters not using cities for instanced content. I love so much when traveling on maps and arriving at cities to do some inventory management, make use of services, sell stuff, etc. or simply to relax, visit the inn. And then embark onto the next activity.

Blackreach would make a fantastic public dungeon!

I would be incredibly disappointed with this. Blackreach is too pretty an area to be wasted on a trial, and should be somewhere to be slowly meandered, and appreciated.
