Nice job on the Dragonhold storyline

Just wanted to compliment the creative team behind the Dragonhold story line. Most of the characters looked and sounded great. I would even say the story was better than the Elseweyr expansion (or Chapter) story line was.

So I've already seen a marked improvement on the storytelling in this game since the decision to continue plot lines through-out the year rather than begin anew each DLC. Based on these results; it was the right way to go. Who ever made that controversial change in direction has been vindicated. Dragonhold was easily the most entertaining story of any of the previous DLC additions and even rivaled or surpassed that of previous Chapters.

I also like the direction it took in respect to building and improving a base of operations that enables more "services" to become available. I'd like to see that concept explored further in future installments. It gives the new content a more substantive sense of progression.

I would have to disagree with you.

The year-long story for me at least felt disconnected and convoluted with side characters that had no purpose being there and a story that could have been cut out.

I personally think the team was struggling to write the southern half of the story and still try to keep the pacing but it missed the mark IMO.

The fact that they had to recap everything made it worse and definitely didn't feel immersive.
As for the "services" you speak of that was a terrible design choice. The housing community already gets the arse end of things and then to have this locked was a twist to the blade.

Most of the zone in dragon hold is empty and only serves as a place holder for the quests mobs and a lot of the space could've been made for delves or something group related.

I enjoyed the characters and how the story builds. It made the story more interesting to see Kaalgrontiid return from the previous chapter (I was actually wondering what happened with him).

You say the side characters had little purpose, but I thought Za'jii and Caska were great (far more interesting than those characters from Murkmire). Then there was my personal favorite - Nahfahlarr - who aside from looking bad ass was perfectly voice-acted. I also enjoyed the scenes with Za'Jii's mother, and of course Abner was stellar as usual. These characters were much better than most of the other previous DLC entries and the story itself was also far more ambitious.

As to allowing players to open up the Dragonguard Sanctum and work on adding new things and why you think that was such a terrible design decision.... you don't really explain.... nor do I understand what that even has to do with housing, let alone twisting the blade in that community? I'll admit it was a bit threadbare - with but a crafting station and an achievement vendor to unlock - but it was nonetheless a good concept and I hope they build on it moving into the future. Because adding a new hideout area along with the DLC that players can watch grow and add new things to as they do quests in the area is a good idea on how to make the content more relevant.

I also did not notice the zone being empty either. When compared to other DLC zones, it seems on par to me. So I guess in the end you're right, we just don't agree

Nice post Jeremy, I have to say that I agree with you. I've enjoyed both the Elsweyr and Dragonhold story lines.
