Should I craft New Moon Acolyte or?

The_DancinPanda
Is the New moon acolyte going to get a Nerf soon or am I safe to craft it and upgrading to gold? At this point I'm not really sure cause I might trow some money and resources away if it gets a Nerf in next few patches. What are your thoughts? What would you do in my place?

Hey, ZOS, You see this post ? People are "afraid" to make progress, craft or grind gear, because of your sledge hammer approach...

I'd craft a purple set and gold my weapons. But then, I'm not a crafter.

I'm playing stamblade, i have a choice between Spriggans and New Moon. New Moon is more damage/better heal, while Spriggans only don't take my 5% cost. I'm a perfectionist and try to get the most out of everything, my hearth says to take New Moon, but my brain says other....

I cant tell what impact New Moon has on a stamina build. But I read Alqast's review of New Moon the other day where he compares it to Mother's Sorrow (magicka equivalent to Leviathan) in a Magicka Sorcerer and the numbers said that New Moon performed worse. Now, I dont know how it performs on a stamblade, cause I use Hundig's + Briarheart on my Kahjiit stamblade and never bothered to test New Moon. May give it a try today.

The increased cost is quite noticeable, should not get nerfed

My stamblade runs 7 medium and has almost 2k stam rec, so i'm pretty fine on sustain, that's probably why I'm really drawn towards New Moon cause that 5% increase cost is barley noticeable for me personally

Exactly what I did, and although it is a decent set, there are better ones out there for the characters I tried different pairings with. Even upgrading to blue "superior" is good enough for use in most settings.

I can promise you I'm personally not going to nerf it.

Jokes aside, have you tried how it performs for you in purple? I know for mag I've had as many people love it as hate it, so it's very dependent on playstyle. If you're certain your sustain will be fine, I'd say it's worth it. As many have said, the 'penalty' on it seems balanced enough right now, so it shouldn't be something they're going to nerf anytime soon. It depends on how reasonable ZOS decides to be.

I use new moon on my tank. I have paired it up with shacklebreaker and Lord Warden Dusk. If you want a pvp or tanking set, it fills a nice niche. I golded a full heavy set with divines and I'm adding more dps to the group while still being pretty darn hard to kill.

As for whether or not it will be nerfed, let me see what my Magic 8-ball says...

    "Reply hazy, try again later."

Just craft purple until next patch notes come out if there’s no sign of a nerf then gold them out.

Mats and resources are not hard to come by.

If you think NMA is going to work for your build, go for it.

If you’re not going to do something because it might get changed in 3 months time, you’ll never do anything, either in game or in real life.

Even if it’s nerfed to shite, you’ll still have had at least 3 months fun out of it.

With the way ZOS has been handling balancing in this game. I wouldn't gold out anything until ZOS figures out what they want ESO to be.

I'll put it like this, if you are using this set for the burst damage/ pvp then I'd make a set

but if you are using it for pve where you need the sustain avoid it at all cost, they will probably increase the cost percentage this set uses to 10% so its more inline with molag kena

after everyone buys it ofc just like Sloads

I use it on my stamblade in PvP. It’s bursty while also giving better heals than spriggans (my old set).

Also, I pair it with another high damage set so the weapon damage is pushed even higher as multipliers are added, again, something I don’t get with spriggans and it’s flat penetration.

The set gets me to a comfortable 50% crit as well while adding penetration.

I don’t really feel the cost increase.

I personally suggest making it. Mats are easy to come by especially if you plan on medium armor.
Hey everyone! Look! It's a signature!

Thanks for advice, i was thinking similarly so ill probably change to NMA from Spirggan

The 5% is very noticable on mag toons. On stam, it seems pretty great.

Don’t bother crafting it. It’s trash. Anything that increases ulti cost (never mind the other skills) is TRASH. Lol. Run something else...on a MagDk at least.

I think it’s a niche set to help hybrids out but am not sure.

I’ve been waiting for the set to come out on the character builder to see if I can make a build from it.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten
