Warden ability Dive still procs sets like an own enemy, different from the player that casts it

Warden skill Dive is according to CP direct damage but it procs Meridia Set as if it is an own source of damage, that means it is considered as an own player. Meridias Set will only cause the cliff racer attacks to miss but the player not, he is still hitting and damaging you with other abilities.

I'm pretty sure they count as pets for purposes of proc-ing the hunt leader set.

This is still the case. Warden dive ability still procs meridia and obviously other sets as an own enemy.

It is a good question. However, I would argue they should not be considered pets because they apply damage only once. They are really no different than any spamable skill.

For the purpose of the Meridia set Zos should find a definition in game that separates out pets that have their movement controlled by an AI vs just having an animation that sends them to the target and they apply damage only once.

I am not suggesting that should be the definition but that it needs to be made.

Is silversurfer looking for reason he's dying like potatoe? Other than being potaote?

"jokes" aside, it's working as intended, cliff racer is considered being pet, cuz it's proccing warden's passive "bound with nature"

When one of your animal companions is killed or unsummoned, you restore X Health

It means it's considered animal companion.
Meridia set has nothing to do with player, there isnt word "player" used anywhere.

(5 items) When you Block an attack, you have a 33% chance to blind your attacker, causing them to miss all of their attacks for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds

.
In this situation atacker is animal companion. Not warden. So it works as intended.

Edit: or maybe just our lovely op doesnt know how meridia works and that it can be purged

imagine being a walking proc set thinking hes 1v1ing and the other 23 players are just other solo players that happen to be near him, then cites his kill counter as indication have how many times hes beat you failing to realize that it counts all the times he zerged you down with 23 other players........... imagine

Ok, i was lucky to meet some meridia guy during pvping so can actually give detailed explanation to OP question about dive and problem with meridia.

As u can clearly see at 29 sec im proccing meridia and all my attacks start to miss (which is shown on top of his char), but at 32 sec my Betty netch timer (u can see it on top of my ability bar) meets end (which also procs last autopurge from it). Since i dont have any other negative effects on me netch purges meridia debuff (which u can also see on my buff/debuff addon) and i can dmg him again and was lucky enough to kill him there.
I hope OP i was able to explain u and clear some misunderstandings with dive skill.
