Gina has done a hell of a job putting out fires for a week now but at some point we, as a community, deserve an update from Matt. Things clearly haven't gotten better and the LFG system has unfortunately done more harm than good along with a bunch of other back end bugs that we haven't seen before this update. Maybe it is time to go back to the drawing board on all of it and start over, just my two cents though.

The only released fix was memory based which will do nothing to help server performance as its almost entirely client side.
I think ZOS shot themselves in the foot by telling people about the memory changes. It would have been better as a silent change since lack of understanding makes everyone expect more than they got.
Right now what they are effectively doing is changing the engine of a car while traveling down the highway at 100kph
Why are not the group finder on its own server so it don't affect the other performance and why are dungeons and BG sharing finder. We can assume they do since BG always get problems then its an dungeon related event.KappaKid83 wrote: »nafensoriel wrote: »KappaKid83 wrote: »I think we can all agree that at this point we would like to have some insight from Matt regarding these issues and what the team is doing going forward to eliminate these issues. I understand that this fix was not something that could fix performance but that is what they sold it to the community as. The LFG system on the other hand was something that was a highly touted change that was supposed to improve QoL within the game but ultimately it has only brought down the servers multiple times since its' launch and has proven it also can not handle the load of the player base. These are things that need to be addressed by the leader of the studio, Matt, and I am of the opinion that the community deserves better than radio silence from anyone besides Gina/Jessica/Sarah.
More fake promises won't cure the problem.
There are 2 options at the moment
1 ) ZOS has no idea how to fix their game - Outcome for playerbase = No change
2 ) Fixing the game will cost ZOS money - Outcome for playerbase = No change

Outcome for playerbase = No change, yet
Unfortunately, given the short-term nature of ESO's events and promotions, "No change, yet" is functionally identical to "No change" for all the players affected.
"We're fixing stuff for Q1 next year" is great...but doesnt do much to help players who want event tickets for the Wirches Festival and the 3 upcoming events now.
Lmao come on OP are you new? They aren’t fixing this games performance. It’s 6 years in and it’s only gotten worse while more content and complex abilities and animations have been added in. You honestly think they’re gonna come out and give you an honest update? Because that would go something like, “hey guys look, we’ve been keeping you all on the hook with these performance road maps but you and I both know it’s never gonna get better. But in our defense we never actually promised any performance fixes. What we said was, ‘this might result in a slight FPS increase for some users,’ so who is really to blame here?”

Of course I am not new, I am asking for actual transparency from the Lead Dev on the game. Take a page from Bungie and have a weekly state of the game post and start from there. Address the community like you actually care about them, that's what I am asking for. And if Matt is ultimately not that guy then IMO it is time to move on from him or for us to move onto another game and stop supporting this one.

I think the real determining factor that Matt is judged on is income. Is the game functioning in a manner that income is generated to the status quo we expect? If so, continue on. If not, evaluate and determine if a replacement is necessary. It's hard to blame the management at ZoS (a business) when we are still subscribing to ESO+, buying DLCs, and spending money in the Crown Store. The main goal is to generate as much income as possible. While it would be nice if we had weekly pow-wows with the development team, that just doesn't seem how this business operates. So the real question is...will you continue to spend money with this business?
Edit: The question was rhetorical, in case that wasn't obvious.
