Most people don't think of it this way, but Odin, though he doesn't live in Hel, is the god of the dead in Norse Mythology and is very much a necromancer, who raises warriors daily to fight and die over and over in Valhalla. The Eddas list the following alternate names of Odin, that could be made into a good Nordic necromancer name within ESO lore.
If you google "alternate names of odin" you will pull a very long list of name bases that could be fashioned into a good character name.
since im bored, youre obviously bored - help me find the name for my nord necromancer (family name for tank)...ive come up with a few i like...what do you think?
I recommend the name Hjávamál Dauõa Sovngarde. Oh, wait - that’s mine!
So - for my Nord Necromancer, I did some research into “real life” Nordic Necromancy - which resulted in stumbling across a book that I think was kind of an ancient “bible” of sorts - providing insight & beliefs & rules for Viking-type living / culture called The Hjávamál.
In reading a section of text that had been translated, there was a reference to necromancy, and also a word for “death” that I think was Dauõa.
And Sovengard being the place where Nords go in the afterlife... Hjávamál Dauõa Sovngarde was born!
Err... yep! - I am an ESO fictional lore nerd... and loving it. Haha.
Oh yeah - I also really wanted to explore the use of accents in my name.
