inchdixprb19_ESO✭✭✭If this indeed the patch that was scheduled for Monday its clear to me that ZOS were aware of problems and were hoping to avoid this becoming a disaster over the weekend.
Maybe they should not have dropped a DLC and an event in the same week as its obvious that regardless of the server upgrades earlier this year that the EU server cannot cope, even with a supposedly dwindling player base.
I just feel sorry for the NA players that have to suffer an outage due the massive flaws in the EU server.2 -

Probably because this isn't his first rodeo.
That is what always happens.
It's, pretty obviously, a max capacity issue.
It would seem that they only want to pay for x amount of capacity, as that is normally sufficient.
So, if more than that x capacity log in/try to log in, as they always do for new content and/or events, it all starts to break down.
Then it only recovers after sufficient people log out and/or get logged out and/or stop trying to log on again.1 -

My impression from the official post was that this patch is not an additional one, but that it's the v5.26 patch that would have been done on Monday, because they anticipate it to resolve the EU server issues. But they moved it up so that EU and also apparently some players on NA weren't stuck without being able to play this weekend. In addition, they had to do both servers at the same time, because the servers needed to be on the same patch version.

It worked OK in Cyrodiil so they implementing it across the board now.1 -

With great regret we have decided to shut down the EU servers. It is totally not our fault. We will not be moving any characters, achievements, collections to the NA server, so if you spent thousands of Pounds/Euro/Potato on this game, we are sorry to tell you, you have flushed money down the toilet because we don't owe you nothing if we say "Thanks for your continued patience and understanding".
