Don't thank me

Pfffft….. "Thank you for you patience" that line really gets to me! I'm not patient, not at all I'm annoyed.
I find it rude to thank me rather asking for my patience and understanding.

Please change it to "We kindly ask you for your patience and understaning"

So stupid of them to assume you're a mature adult with empathy and a basic understanding that sometimes things don't work the way they're supposed to... What were they thinking?

They should act as you do when interacting with people and ask for patience and not just assume that I am because that is quite rude.

Can't tell if seriously indignant or trolling.

Sure, the login queues suck. But its not like being impatient will accomplish anything, and the nitpicking of "thanks in advance for your patience" is a little like:
Player X: "Have a good weekend!"
Player Z: "You can't tell me what to do!"

I can't agree, these have to very different meanings. Your example is wishing someone a good weekend, there's no assumption.

Whenever things go wrong it's always assumed that I'm patient and being thanked for it. I find it rude and a nonchalant. The correct, and polite, way to act is to ask for patience and understanding.

I wouldn’t say for a minute that “thank you for your patience” is rude. Far from it. It’s just that not everyone likes ZOS to assume their patience when they may feel anything but patient.

I would rather have a polite thank you than nothing. It’s called manners.

Yeah rude might be a bit harsh but seeing that English ain't my mothertongue I couldn't find a suitable word for how I pictured it.
Even so, if I want something from someone, I ask for it.

If they asked us for our patience, it would sound like they were accusing us of being impatient.

When it hasn't been working the way it's supposed to for a prolonged period, it's probably time to start firing people.

ZOS: "Thank you for your patience"

Player: "I find it rude to thank me rather asking for my patience and understanding."

    ZOS PR: Okay, change it.

ZOS: "We kindly ask you for your patience and understanding"

Player: "How dare you ask patience from me! How rude! Would rather you assume I already have it so I don't have to do anything"

    ZOS PR: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I read it as being similar to when someone posts a message asking for information or help and concludes with "Thanks in advance!" or "TIA!" You could argue that this is quite rude because it imposes upon the reader an expectation that he or she will, or should, post an informative or helpful reply. Obviously that is not what people intend when they say it; they're simply saying that they would be grateful for any information or help that any readers would be willing and able to give.

Similarly, ZOS is simply saying that they would be grateful for your patience and understanding if you choose to be patient and understanding.

Sometimes is the key word here...with ZO$ its not a case of sometimes, but most of the time.

Being adult and being mature have nothing to do with it, they drop the ball CONSTANTLY and patience has its limits. Ball is in their court, not ours.
