Am I doing this correctly? (Witches Festival)

So it's my first time doing the Witches Festival more days than one, so I go to Stonefalls in hopes to seeing her there, but the door is locked. I try to use the whistle, but that only summons the cauldron. Then finally I check and see if I can get the quest again from the Crown Store, and I can, and that's how I ended up summoning her again, but is that really the way to do it? Or is she hiding from me somewhere? (I checked at the impresario but didn't see her there either)

Number_51✭✭✭✭✭Works a little differently this year than it did in years past. You used to get a crow whistle, blow it to start the quest. Now you get the quest starter that seem to automatically blow the whistle for you. Probably because people were having issues keeping the crow whistle and witch whistle straight (as to what does what) previously.
So, yes, you are doing it correctly. Get the quest starter from the store. When you exit the store talk to the witchmother. You may have to wait a couple seconds for her to appear. If you've already done the quest, you can't do it again (per character).5

No. The starter quest that gives you the Witchmother's Whistle, where you have to give Olyve the pumpkins, guts, and essence of death, can only be done once per character.
I think most of the people having trouble, probably for the same reason as previous years, are trying to use the Witchmother's Whistle (that all character's can use from mementos whether they've done the quest or not) to start the quest. That doesn't work. It will give you the 100% XP and turn you into a skeleton, but you need to use the quest starter in the crown store if you want to do The Witchmother's Bargain quest on a new character that hasn't done it. I noticed I still have a Crow Caller whistle in my inventory, haven't tried whether that still works or not as a quest starter.
Edit: I suppose something may have changed (besides the Crow Caller change) that allows you to do The Witchmother's Bargain more then once. I'll try when I get home.Edited by Number_51 on October 25, 2019 5:03PM0 -
vibeborn✭✭✭✭✭Hmm I checked to see if I had a Crow Caller in my inventory but I could not find anything. I was able to do the Witchmother's bargain quest again on the same character, by getting it from the Crown Store but it still feels like a weird way to do it0

✭✭✭✭✭You can do the Witchmothers Challenge on a character that has done it before. And, I accidentally used the Crown store item twice in one session and got the quest a second time. Have not tried to turn that in a second time.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

✭✭✭@vibeborn the item you are looking for to give you your xp bonus is the WITCHMOTHER'S WHISTLE..... you will find it in your memento's NOT in your inventory.

✭✭Also first time for me this event, grabbed the quest starter from store, got a task, gathered the stuff and kind of lost the quest in quest log. And happily tried to do event things... Much later found out I had not turned it in (for that char, Stonefalls, near that annoyingly far out dolmen) and did.
I'd say it's like ESO questing as usual, one tiny distraction and you end doing something else for hours.
For other factions place to turn quest in should be at Glenumbra or Reaper's march. (Not tried myself.)0 -

Thanks The problem was I did not know how to start the daily quest other than starting it from the Crown Store every day, because the Witchmother didn't appear when I blew the whistle from my mementos 0
