Should players who haven't played the game in over a month be allowed to post in this Forum?

What is the point of “inb4lock” posts???

It's kind of like carving "Brooks was here" in the attic support beam.

Brooks was here? And I missed it. Typical.

All anyone would have to do is log in once every 3 months. It's not really a punishment. There is more chance of recapturing a lost player by keeping them engaged with the community.

I can see why the OP would think this is a good idea, but I don't think it's practical. In order to silence a portion of the negative players you also lose anyone who has to go away for any other reason and people who left but are now considering coming back and want to ask some questions first, or maybe even need help to get the game working.

I was surprised when the beta tests ended and I was still able to post here, even though I didn't buy the game right away, but that was a bit different. I don't think taking forum access away from existing players would benefit anyone.

Not allowing players to post because they haven't played in over a month seems a bit over the top. Sure there are some people who don't play the game anymore and just stick around for the whatever, but other people have lives outside the game that may prevent them from logging in, or they may just be needing a break from all the hassle. I haven't been here for very long, but I have taken month-long breaks from the game because to be quite honest, the game takes up a lot of mental effort for me, so I need my breaks. That does not mean I'm going to quit forever and start trolling the forum though.

    Really?

Maybe they have valid points or ideas and want to get them across.

You don't make the forums a better place by blanket banning people

i dont mean to ban them, i just think it would be a more peaceful place if active people are allowed to post here.

And if you want, log in and then you can post again.

In case you hadn't noticed its mostly the active players that are generally unpleasant, after a month break you're under the false impression that the you might be ready to be frustrated and disappointed again. You only have to be back for a few days to end that delusion however.

Maybe some of us are here to be informed of changes and hope for something better. (Better being in one's own personal opinion)

Also it's important to give feedback on what we don't like in the game and reasons for leaving. Especially since this patch is seeing alot of turnover. It can help (how much is of course subject to how much Zos is listening) turning the games decisions and hopefully influencing a better direction.

So no, banning people (or not letting them post) just because you don't particularly like what they say isn't a great idea. I don't play anymore, but I come to the forum in the hopes of seeing something that would bring me back to the game.

Keep in mind, alot of posts you're talking about actually comes from people who are still playing. So much for your theory of a more "peaceful place".

Well, I actually didn't find a "good" option, so I voted the "non" option.

Yes, I do get a bit annoyed with some of the "well, I don't even play this game any more" posts around. However, sometimes you get a better feel for "the other side". And that can help with improving empathy for people no matter the situation.

When I leave a game, though, I also never post on the game's forums again. Only once did I return to WoW's CS forum - a year after I'd quit playing. That was when someone I knew very well in the game died very unexpectedly and at quite a young age. She was definitely well-loved in the CS forum, and I thought it appropriate to add my mourning to everyone else's.

You should only be allowed to post on the forum if you are a 'since launch beta yo!' player with 1000+ CP , pulling over 100k DPS on a 20 million dummy, flawless conqueror, grand overlord & wear a nice outfit.

Can we get a list of appropriate attire? I don't want to be caught with my pants down so to speak.

No, most of the time they are just here to bash / rally players who want to give valid feedback
the number of people who make irrelevant and misinformed posts and comments about the state of the game based on what they exclusively saw from one tiny perspective about half a year ago vastly outweighs the number of people who take breaks from the game with a valid opinion, probably a scale of about 10 to 1. So i'd be fine if that was a thing, not that it ever would be lol

It should be nice but not too expensive, long flowing locks are a must as well as glowing eye sockets.

ESO is a B2P and does not require a sub. Why would there be any other requirement but just having the game?

Personally if I take a break from game and the publisher decides they don't want my input, screw them, what do I care.

Yes, they have experiences worth sharing
With the advent of daily login rewards I haven't missed a month of logging in for quite a while. But even when I had longer gaps I still perused the forums, had questions, had compliments to give on nice outfits or home decorating, and always the possibility of logging in to see something cool I learned about on the forums. I'd feel pretty miffed if I got locked out from even the minor posting I do here just because I hadn't logged in. Heck, I've non-stop paid ESO + since it began, and was a subscriber from launch, even during some lean times, even while not playing so much.

Those people that say they've quit but still come here to post about the game? They haven't really quit. They haven't gotten over the game. Which means they could come back in to play again. ZoS isn't going to give them the boot. If they post inappropriately, the mods will (should) take care of it. A blanket preemptive ban is overkill.

My Suggestion would be make the Forum Account inactive if the "Gameaccount" hasn't been online in over a month.

EDIT: Ignore the grammatical Error in one of the questions please :|

I say let them post but give us an option to filter comments by players who do not play the game. Like an option to show only comments by eso plus members because most of them still play.

Maybe they're here because they wish to make suggestions about how the game could change in a way which would guarantee their return.

Idk, that’s kinda alienating people who took a break from the game to play something else. Or alienates people who have things happen irl that’s beyond their control...
