My friend and (both DD) queue together for dungeons, it's used to take us less than a minute to get in......... tonight it took around 30 minutes!

I can't find any other posts about it, but surely we can't be the only ones? PC EU

DDs are more than enough in this game, so no, its not the guild finder. Its because there are many DDs waiting. Guild Finder was broken but lately performs ok. When I queue as a tank, I find a group in 1-2 minutes max.

Just make a healer or a tank and you ll find group easier.

Another way of looking at this... far less tanks and healers queue for dungeons. How can ZOS incentivize players to switch to support roles?

Queue times are a bad indicator of how well the dungeon finder works. Did you observe any actual bugs?

    1. make it free and easy to swop skills, gear, CP so the same character can have a number of different incarnations

    2. it's also up to players to understand how these roles work and the challenge/enjoyment you can get playing them

    3. dd's on their own are going to face way longer queues than usual as everyone wants to do a random normal for Plunder Skulls and there are proportionally more dds than tanks and healers

Group Finder may not be totally broken, but the PC EU server is really struggling to cope atm

Well, it worked fine until the patch dropped, we tried on Tuesday and couldn't get in. As per the OP, it's taken us less than a minute for months, now it takes 30 minutes. This is not a good fix.

Dungeon finder works well now, but the server status is another topic.

    - Dungeon was found in a minute
    - It was very laggy , but we finished
    - Now I'm stuck in a loading screen out of the dungeon

Pretty much all normal dungeons can be done without tank/healer, and skilled players would prefer to run them with 4 DD.

If we have option something like "I am OK for 4 DD group" it would help a lot.

Teach people to play. No, seriously.

Tanking a dungeon in a group with 15k combined DPS (and you are doing 5k of that yourself) I a very un-fun experience.

And this kind of goups is way too common in groupfinder. There is no shortage of tanks and healers in the game. It's just that they avoid the groupfinder like the plague.

It used to be the case that a pair of DDs queuing got a group much faster than a single one did. Maybe the new GF no longer works that way?

OP. Need more details like than this.

If you are getting the messages cycling where the group is forming, then someone declines and you are put back in the queue and that repeats over and over for 30 minutes then you need to make that clear. Add what time, server, et all so Zos actually has something to work with.

That is what the GF fix was. Anyone who has been queueing for dungeons for the past 2 years is pretty familiar with that.

If you are two DDs queueing and just twiddling your thumbs for a half hour that is life if you do not have an support roles in your group already. If you were normally getting a queue pop in about a minute with only 2 DD in the group before this update you were extremely lucky. However, I doubt that was the case.

Dungeon Finder was broken for me on multiple different occasions.

One time i got in the dungeon with only a tank and the 2 other person were not invisible or left, they just weren't in the group from the start.

Another time everybody accepted, then we get put back in que anyway and 3 hours later i noticed i was still in que like oh...

me and a friend qued up, waited 30 minutes, somebody rejected - waited another 30 minutes and eventually cancelled the que.

    It's definitely worse then before.

Even more true when it is two DD queue up together without anyone else in the group to perform support role. That is dungeon finder 101 for most major MMORPGs.

Before the patch it definitely did not "work fine". We had that bug saying that somebody declined the group invite even when queuing with a full group of 4 people, and we knew everyone confirmed, or sometimes not getting the prompt and getting kicked from the queue for not confirming a prompt that never appeared. Then there was a weird bug with people over CP1600 who could not get into a dungeon if they queued with a certain group composition. I can think of quite a few other old bugs that plagued the old dungeon finder.

And the fact that you were able to get in quickly queuing with 2 DDs may be one of those bugs, because there is no reason whatsoever why 2 DDs should get in faster than people who queue solo, which was the case prior to the patch.

Another way of looking at this... far less tanks and healers queue for dungeons. How can ZOS incentivize players to switch to support roles?

Simple : do not place the emphasis on huge DPS, and remove all instakill mechanics so healers can actually heal.

Personnaly, I'd start with making heavy attacks restore ressources and heavy attacks cause more damage, because common sense and also less weaving... And fixing the animation canceling bug. You could cancel the animation, but then it would cancel the attack / skill too. This way it would be more about properly timing the proper action and less about cramming as many actions as you can in as little time as you can. Mechanically, that would lower DPS, so tanking and healing would become more useful and appreciated.

Also, proper tanking, not buff-monkeying. A tank should be there to take damage in your stead, not to make you deal more damage. That's the role of a support class, which is sadly not a proper category in this game.

Probably. I doubt that it was meant to work that way in the first place and when they reworked the system it changed that.

Nobody does non-pledge dungeons using the dungeon finder. And if you're a DD, even pledge dungeons can take 30+ minutes to pop, especially if you are looking for a group outside of peak hours.

Hell of an load today. Normal should be fast as lots run fake tanks or healers :)
Then might also have changed the fasttrack for two DD:
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This happened to a friend and myself queing up together. We were both DPS. The first time we qued it was about 1-2 minutes, the second time it was well over 10. So....we disbanded, regrouped, and re-qued...timer reached 15 minutes and we gave up.

This was on vet daily pledges too around 7PM EST.

I have noticed that when you hit "F" to accept ready check, it's almost instant to the dungeon loading screen. Good on that...but the times to wait have gotten worse in an ironically busier game. The new LFG system does seem a bit odd indeed...

Pressing "F" IRL for those reasons right now.
