Do we know if the combat team are aware of the lore?

It seems as if not. It seems as if the combat team tries to create a pew-pew-pew game out of something that isn’t so simple.

Well, the Loremaster quit around the time the new combat team took over, and they installed a new Loremaster who said Hi and was never heard from again. Formulate your own conclusions, but it's not entirely unlike when a new President takes over, he flushes the old Cabinet and installs his own team of yes-persons.

I would assume since most of the changes to Bosmer were justified as "we're doing this because its more lore-friendly!" that the combat team or combat team lead would, at the very least, be bothered to research what the lore actually is.

If a bunch of us scrubs can find it on the internet with a 2 minute google search, and its literally the racial description in the game they're working on, I would think the official TESO team would be able to find this information with ease. Especially since its supposed to be the entire race's flaunted combat niche.

The lore, and clearly the Bow skill-line imo, at this point is considered nothing more than irrelevant RP fluff to be ignored in favor of other races, endgame, and PvP. The fact that Hunter's Eye Detection is an exclusively PvP skill pretty unarguably reflects that, I think.

While Bosmer racials and bow skills are technically separate, the fact both seem to be getting nerfed into the ground (and Nightblades, which I assume a lot of bosmer are because it makes us more effective stealthers) really just seems to drive home more and more which race they don't care a lick about.

As an old friend once told me in school (but is still applicable here), "Teachers don't pick favorites; they pick least favorites" :#

Well, ZOS said they would add stealth detection mechanics to PVE somehow. They didn't deliver. I don't think they will in the future. And even then it's probably only a few situations. Stealth detection won't be magically useful in five years of content. Giving Bosmers a dead passive for pve was a bad decision and it is sad that ZOS didn't revert it. Not to mention the lore.

That's the first I've heard of that. I know a few of us were throwing that out there in jest.... but I really don't think they care enough to make their PvP only passive work for the majority of us who are primarily PvE. They haven't taken the time to correct now-conflicting NPC dialogue, so it seems highly unlikely they would actually add new content to make Hunter's Eye relevant for most. And the idea of adding stealth options for all would still make Bosmer the worst at stealth, which is 180 degrees from the 20 year established TES lore for wood elves. But hey, they can magically make dragons appear in the Age of Man, and they can resurrect people we sacrificed in the main story to sell DLC, so I'm not optimistic our lore will be restored to us any time soon.
