PC/Mac Maintenance at 10:00UTC/6am EDT. Is this to fix the lag spikes and log in errors?

Currently in-game certain actions and random times cause massive ping spikes. In addition past 2 days there have been log in errors. Is this maintenance going to fix any of these issues?

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

✭✭✭✭Well given the EU server has been shite for at least a year... and we've had not one but two pinned grovelling apologies from ZOS heads saying they "must try harder" and they're "only just aware of the issues"... my guess is a face saving 4 hours, followed by the introduction of a 'temporary' one in one out log in system, followed by a 'promise' to "do a bit better this time"

✭✭✭✭✭Pretty sure this is their answer. It is the information they chose to give us related to the hotfix.We are bringing down the PC NA and EU servers at 6am EDT on Oct. 23 to push some back-end changes in response to the recent long loading screens and related issues that have been happening on the PC/Mac servers since Update 24 launched on Monday.
We will continue to monitor the servers after these changes are live, and make further adjustments as needed. Thank you for your patience.0
