Why not add more health to the npc's to nerf player's damage and sustain?

I don't understand why this isn't the way to nerf player's without actually nerfing the player's themselves?
It surely would make ppl less angry and feel less cheated.

Why not buff the player instead of nerfing them every Patch so people can actually enjoy the game?

So the big sack of hp calling himself or herself a boss just takes longer to kill? I'm not sure how this actually changes anything.

If you don’t put some actual oomph behind NPCs’ attacks, the extra health doesn’t actually make them any less boring and dull.

Give NPCs a crit chance, so players have to balance crit resist in their PVE builds.

If their 100 damage attack crits for 160, hell even a full 200, I don’t think that’d really end up changing much. They’d actually have to do damage in the first place to make crust scary.

In dungeons the inconsistency would probably just make a bunch of things go full fubar, so may as well be consistent and have all their damage doubled in the Normal and overland difficulty tier. You’d hardly notice it but at least it’d fell like the things we’re fighting back.

By simply adding health means that the fight last longer. Which means you take more damage, you get more mechanics ( for longer) and you would have to sustain your rotation longer.
The tanks have to sustain more damage by having to go longer, the DPS have to keep the rotation up longer and the healer has to keep healing longer.
Raising the npc's damage output would also help but would have to be balanced with the max health.
But at least then ppl wouldn't feel like there builds are being attacked or that something they worked hard on isn't being taken away from them.
