If so, what are you, who use this class, going to do? Respeccing or staying the same and just dealing with it. My hopes are fading for these nerfs, but I will play a little and see if it's unbearable or not. As long as I can stay alive in PvE, that's all that matters. I don't mind if fights take a little longer.

✭✭Depends on what you mean by boot up the arse.
Pet sorcs (Tormentor and Familiar) have been parsing at around 82-84k on pts, depending on Frag rng. That's including the prey nerf. Thing is, you slot Tormentor but don't actually activate the skill.1 -
Vigawatt✭✭✭Not sure, I was too demoralized to experiment on PTS. I definitely have to adjust for sustain, but haven't even looked in to what new rotation or gear to use to address that.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Yeah, sorc meta this patch is to run both pets and don't use their abilities at all.
Tormentor enrage has been a waste of a GCD for ages.
Volatile ability dps is still decent, but it costs too much to use without parse food. Use it in trash, but for a single target fight I wouldn't bother.
Lightning splash is really bad, both morphs. Like, worthless bad. Take it off your bar entirely. It costs too much and doesn't do enough dps.
If you need aoe run either soul splitting trap or mystic orb.
those 84k parses require parse food to sustain. I was seeing 1600+ mag drain a sec on the 21m on a Breton with false god.
With a "realistic" build I was getting more like 76k dps in the final week of the PTS. unless you're going into content with 13k max health you're going to have to make some sustain / dps compromises.2 -

Ok in all seriousness I think pets sorcerers are ok but at this point they’re tuning sorcerer pets like a single slot skill not a double slot. Things still work don’t worry. If you want them to return to prescalebreaker kind of OP.... eh I can’t say I agree and I own a magsorc myself.0 -

That remains to be seen. Petsorc seems superior to non-pet, but compared to other, especially stamina, classes? That Daedric Prey nerf might have cost sorcs their spots in hard mode trial groups.1 -
