their wings are fanned out wide and flapping, so annoying that i had to fight with my mouse very aggressively trying to target exiting doors, click on crafting stations, and even in attempt to blade of woeing some npcs, and harder to see and click on strongboxes.
i dont mind outside of city areas or in dungeon if they are not in the way. i just dont like "IN YOUR FACE", but ban in city zones, just like nerco's skills which are outlawed in city zones.
Please.
due to some players are either being rude or too lazy.

Please don't. There are other solutions like shrinking them, fixing interacticity, etc. that can address the situation without a blanket removal.

City zones are combat zones for questing, justice system, and dueling. Its one thing for Necromancers to not have access to all their skills in cities - they launched that way and every player knew what to expect. Its a whole different thing to take away access to a Sorc skill when they've always had access to it in cities since Launch.

Also, ZOS could make it obvious how to dismiss pets. I hit Champion Points long before I realized I could dismiss my twilight by clicking on the buff on my character sheet. I used to have to physically remove it from my bar to dismiss it.

Banning pets in cities - basically changing how sorc and warden classes have worked since their release - should be a last resort.

How about a Memento that dismisses all pets and assistants.
And if people don't start using it we can look at more drastic measures for blocking interaction points and npcs.

All pets need to be removed from the game and anyone who has ever used them, even if it was just for a second, should be banned.

I agree. Ban matriarchs in all city zones. Until such time as ZOS can actually make them unintrusive, remove them completely from cities, especially enclosed spaces like banks where combat is a non factor. I'm fine if they just replace the ability with a summon [insert very small creature here] instead. Why they need to be so damn huge (with a morph that actually INCREASES the size) and constantly flapping is confusing.

    Other alternatives would be:

Allow other players to optionally hide all combat pets from other players.
Allow other players the ability to unsummon other combat pets when they are in town.
Force unsummon combat pets after X minutes of player inactivity.
Make them much smaller and immobile when the player is stationary.
Allow players to interact with things through the pet (bears are especially horrible for this)

You could basically take a bear or two and park them in an important spot and shut that spot down until the players choose to log out.

    Examples:

3 or 4 bears could stand on top of the cake baker during anniversary events. End result, event can't be started.

You can shut down an entire crafting hub if you park enough pets on top of those crafting stations or writ turn in locations.

A coordinated denial of service squad could park pets on top of all pledge givers in the 3 main cities and troll until they choose to move at a time of their choosing, holding the pledges hostage.

    I could go on.

Just because it hasn't become an issue to a large extent up until this point, it does not mean the system isn't broken. At some point some group of people will just choose to shut down certain aspects of the game and there is nothing that players can do right now to stop it. Threads like this are an attempt to deal with the issue before it becomes much larger and ZOS should take notice.

Most of the players I see using pets pull about 5k dps. No nerf to damage will affect whether or not they use the pets. They will use them no matter what due to flavor reasons. I'd guess that 90% of players don't even know there is a patch tomorrow and wouldn't know where to look for patch notes even if they knew patch notes were a thing.

    +1

I hate the flappy things with the burning heat of a thousand fiery suns. I hate them so much that I never run the matriarch on my sorc because their flapping triggers me. If ZOS could at least add an auto despawn of pets around the crafting areas and bank, you would have happier players all around.

Honestly I never had a issue with sorcerer pets blocking crafting stations. It’s always a wardens bear. What’s bad is the other day I was doing the turn in and was like what a hole has his bear out. Then I realized I was on warden alt.... 😂

    Please don't...
City zones are combat zones for questing, justice system, and dueling...Its one thing for Necromancers

Please do despawn them near bank, craft, wayshrines, where few if any quests take place (probably none actually). If there are any quests that take place in banks, etc., those could be moved easily. That a thief could steal with pets spawned is ridiculous, and duels should also be banned in cities also. The attempted necromancer equivalence is a false equivalence.

Time for these ugly, outdated, obtrusive, nonimmersive things to become a big QOL boost for all those who don't play them and despawn them where appropriate. I suspect the only reason it hasn't been done is it is just another way of generating the appearance of a game more full of activity than it actually is.

IKR. And it's almost always the pet sorcs who make my tanks' lives miserable in easy normal dungeons that should be a relaxed, fun monster hunting spree by rushing ahead unnecessarily, preaggroing mobs AND bosses... and backing it up with their ferocious 5k dps. Yuck.
They will use them no matter what due to flavor reasons. I'd guess that 90% of players don't even know there is a patch tomorrow and wouldn't know where to look for patch notes even if they knew patch notes were a thing.

You are too kind, they use pets because it is an easy crutch for bad players who don't want to improve, and in pvp, broken in several ways for "wee bit too serious" players to exploit.

    [Quoted post has been removed.]

Sure. Does that include people using non-combat pets ? It should.

More seriously, @VaranisArano point is really pertinent IMHO : I'm pretty sure a lot of players are not cognizant of the fact that they can dismiss their pets. I remember I had to research it specifically to learn that it was possible, discovering the Pet Dismiss addon was then playlife-changing.

Please also take notice of the fact that most "pet users" are actually bothered by combat pets (including their own) and dismiss them as soon as practicable.. or become petless by default. Which indeed clearly indicates that there *is* an usability problem.. an out-of-combat one in this case.

The fact that it's been this way since they were introduced, but they've never done a thing about them, has caused me to assume that they never cared and never will.

So many people have them that they must know how irritating they are and that's the whole reason why they have them in the first place.

We can probably assume as well that certain devs play the game and like them for this specific reason.

As someone who spends far to many hours in this game each week for the past five and a half years I do not see this issue being such a big issue. It is rare I am blocked by a pet to begin with and when I am it is usually resolved with a step in one direction of another.

idk, maybe I notice them and approach a crafting table or wayshrine so they are not in my way but I just do not see this as a the major issue OP seems to find it to me. I guess it is just a difference of what we choose to focus on that leads to this very different impression.

Constant toxic comments like this are the reason I stopped dismissing my pets. The hate for pet sorcs is so ridiculous at this point that there's nothing to do but embrace it, and what would pet sorc haters have to whine about if we all dismissed our pets?

    It's a public service, really.

I want to see two things.

First, pets and NPC escorts should not block interaction. This is a no brainer.

Second, give us another alternative to the Twilight. The scamp can be morphed into a Clannfear, so why not let us morph the Twilight into something else, like a Hunger? I've actually posted about this before.

    Summon Lesser Daedra
Summon Banekin (Pretty well just like current Scamp)
    >Summon Scamp (Like current Unstable Scamp, but a little more tanky, able to hold aggro)
    >Summon Clannfear (Just as it is)

    Summon Greater Daedra
    Summon Dremora (Melee DPS)
    >Summon Winged Twilight (Ranged DPS)
    >Summon Hunger (Melee Tank/Heal - would cause AOE heal effect the way Unstable Scamp causes damage)

I vote all those flying creatures be turned into little tiny really small dragonflies.

and switching to first person view doesn't solve the problem.

That is like telling someone who doesn't like when others duel in a bank just don't go into banks.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
