My constructive feedback is: I understand it is desirable for a MMO content creator to get players take their time when doing the content. However waiting times and unnecessary long travelling distances are not the exiting and proper way to do it. Please, I'm not in hurry but just wasting my time is not fun.

I think the dragons would be more fun if they landed in different places and, depending on how the battle went (maybe if not killed fast enough), might fly off to a different place. But perhaps these or similar changes will be introduced with the next DLC? :)

Screen shot taken on Friday Oct. 18th at approx 7pm EST. NA server.

Just moments before this screen shot all of the dragons were NOT under attack.

There has been a lot of talk about steam log ins dropping... But has anyone ever seen this before on a NA server? This is kinda crazy.

I had no problem killing dragons today (finished up my Dragon Hunter achievement). That being said, once people finish what they are working on and move on to other things dragon slaying is likely going to become more scarce. So it's going to happen. If not yet, eventually.

They should probably add dragon hunting to the activity finder. That way people who are looking to kill dragons can more easily put a group together for it because they are hell to solo. But I like that. It's about time we had some "world bosses" on the landscape that actually feel like world bosses.

While I agree that having to travel a ways to a dragon site is kind of tedious, it actually does make sense.

For one thing, it's a bit of a pain to be traveling along a road from one city to another just minding your own business and suddenly a dragon lands in front of you and proceeds to attack you. (Skyrim, I'm looking at you.) I mean, that can be fun, especially if you've leveled up and geared up to where you can safely take on a dragon and survive. (Skyrim.) But it can also be horrible if you're too weak to survive the attack, and no amount of running away seems to work, and no amount of reloading your saved game seems to let you avoid the dragon entirely. (Skyrim.) Keeping the dragons off the beaten track as it were lets players successfully avoid them if they want to.

For another thing, dragons are basically a type of group boss, and the other group bosses have their own specific locations, so why shouldn't the dragons have specific locations, too?

And in legends and stories that include dragons and dragon slaying, the dragons are usually in out-of-the-way locations and lairs that people need to journey to. Sentient beings who are hunted with extreme prejudice do not usually build their lairs right next to where the extremely prejudiced hunters hang out.

It doesn't take more than 10 seconds from the nearest wayshrine and to a dragon's landjng spot. Just admit that you'll ll lazy and can't be nothered moving more than five steps for something.

The most worrisome thing i see is that you are calling wyverns dragons. Dragons are 4 legged with wings Wyverns are 2 legged with wings.

    /rubs temples. this again.

aside from the fact that you are trying to push an arbitrary classification on fictional creatures, even if we go by YOUR arbitrary choices rather then accepting that every fictional universe has their own idea what dragons actualy look like

I levelled a char from twentysomething to 50 during the event. Most levels at Alik'r Dolmen grind, cause dragons felt so boring and tedious I just had to take a break from it. Not even joking.

Wow, they must be really boring if you found dolmens better :s Yikes!

I would say that dolmens are more fun than dragons. Probably because there's less down time, less traveling. Plus I kind of enjoy the "racing" with 20 other people from dolmen to wayshrine, and vice versa. Now, if they could just retroactively add the difficulty scaling they introduced with Summerset geysers, they'd be even more fun. And if they added less travel time + visual map cues (like the Elsweyr dragon icon) to geysers, they'd be better, too.

I guess for me the overarching construction of the event bugs me. Geysers were exactly the same for me too. Dragon Age 2 soured me forever on wave combat-- every battle was three waves + (mini)boss. Dolmens and geysers are 3 or 4 + boss. Minor mechanics are different but the superstructure is the same. I wish it would get mixed up a little. You know, wave then boss then wave. Or boss, wave, boss, wave. Shake it up a little for variety :D

It's also irrelevant. We don't Vancian spellcasting here... hell, D&D doesn't anymore. We don't have to worry about the difference between arcane and divine spells. We don't have demons and devils. We don't have an alignment.

We don't have to worry about whether that red dragon is chaotic enough to qualify or if it's out of character.

when was this might hop on my PC toon and try and solo a dragon lol

Someone always turns up and often doesn't know how to get rid of the adds, by dragging them out of the area.

Also, sometimes the dragon just starts spamming the dot attack, which can be wearing, unless you're a tank.

Or it can reset, pretty randomly, if you try to drag the adds out.

It's definitely doable, though, if you have the patience, the knowledge, the CP and the build.
