Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Why didn't I do this in the first place? Also a question about dungeon queue.

My tip is - most fun for PUG tanking is Necromancer - because you can carry even worst team through most of the mechanics as long you have a good sustain - with a ressurection ultimate.

That's a good point. Well I do plan on making a tank on every class now. Just because I can really.

Same for that automatic blocking from one 1h&,S, since you can have 6 seconds of reduced incoming damage plus no knockbacks.

First of all OP, Welcome to the wonferful world of Tanking. Glad you joined us.

Like you and many others I tried tanking out and fell in love. I mostly created a tank for faster ques and just to see how difficult it was coming from a dps and healer.

As others have probably mentioned tanks get faster ques due to there being a shortage of tanks in the pug system. Most good tanks run with guilds or friends and avoid the system at all cost. This is mainly due too the randomness of dps in pugs.

You WILL come across CP 700+ dps in pugs who bow light attack from a corner...or spam crystal frags on a loop....or die when 1 trash mob so much as looks at them....who die and get revived only to get up in an aoe and die again...dps who slot a sword and shield....healers who slot the pvp big siege shield...groups who take 3 minutes to kill the 1st group of trash mobs....groups with no AoEs at ALL...or join a group who has 1 dps so bad but you can't vote kick due to them queing with a friend...or joining a group with no orbs or shards so I can proc my alkosh...the list goes on.

But I'm a sucker for punishment so i run pugs. As someone who mentioned Necromancer tanks are pug Gods. I have a very hard to kill necro tank (who i can run without a healer) and during the harder vet dlc dungeons. When my group wipes during a boss battle my ult is ready to go and rez the whole group. This has saved us countless times especially during the last 30% of the boss's health.

As someone else mentioned...tanking can get boring. Especially during the vet base game dungeons. I've literally fallen a sleep in the middle of battle. Which is why I run 90% vet dlc dungeons. Those will keep you on your feet and awake. Crazy mechanics and 1 shots keep you alert.

Being a tank is awesome. I have 1 of each except for a Nightblade tank. Going to make a blood themed NB tank next. The best feeling for playing a tank is saving the group from multiple wipes and pulling some people through a vet dlc dungeon they never done before and getting "You are awesome" or "Best tank ever" whispers and random friend request afterwards.

That was a nice read. Thank you.

I have made my nightblade into a tank and he runs brilliantly. Still have some previously unused skills that I can morph and he's going to get tankier... Not to mention changing traits on his gear over time.

Also guys, colour me surprised today when I noticed Inner Fire from the Undaunted skills is a ranged taunt. I honestly thought ice staff was the only range taunt. Now I know going lightning staff was the right choice.

Magblade tank was my most fun tank ever. No ranged pull, so you have to work differently, but it was fun, with great sustain and I usually did more healing than the healer.
