You can already find Hollowjack and Dremora for dirt cheap.

The chests and I think maybe the legs are pretty pricey. The rest are cheap-o.

For some reason, bow and sword are also rather pricey in the guild stores for this motif, as well.
I've manged to get the chest and legs since last year's event, but I still need the bow and sword.
Hoping I'll get lucky this year.

    Dremora had staggered drop sources.

Swords and Chests required you to clear Trials.

Legs and Bows required you to clear Arenas.

That made those four motifs much rarer than the others, because the vast majority of players don't interface with any of that content.

    1. Learning all hollowjack,

    3. Kill 100 skeles
    4. Get a unique plunderskull for each type (requires arena, trial, delve, dungeon, world boss, etc)
    5. Consume 10 Marionette parts
    6. Complete wichmother's quest
    7. Earn 100 Plunderskulls (farm for at least a day)
    8. Eat (and learn recipes) for each food during wiches festva (8 recipes)
    9. Complete 28 Withes festival writs
    10. Eat 3 more foods (more recipes)

Plus all the quests and "Use cauldron 10 times" but those are easier.

Didn't we used to get more time to do these? I feel rushed, even with only the new ones. God forbid I want to try getting an alt through some of these.

As in everything in this game, and other games, it depends of the effort and commitment you put into it.

FYI. some of those achievements related to the Witches Fest can be accomplished outside the event's period.

Unfortunately they seem to have changed that. I tried feeding my Necro with the festival foods just to get that out of the way and it did not count. I'm fairly sure it used to.

If it's anything like the last Halloween events 10 days is more then enough time for the average player and the farmers will have their stuff done in a couple days.

Depends. It looks like one or two of the recipes will be really good, but most events see a huge spike in prices at the beginning and then a glut on the market. If you wait til day 7 or 8 of the event, its a lot easier to pick up affordable rewards from the guild store. (Exceptions for BIS recipes like Dubious Camoran Throne obviously happen.)

Whatever you do, don't rush out and buy stuff on day 1 or 2 unless you want to pay a premium.

Sounds like another mind-numbing grind event. I just want my tickets.
And there's always next year to complete the achievements? Except maybe the festival writs. If the writ drop rate is like New Life last year, getting 28 in 10 days (versus 20 days of New Life last year) is gonna be a huge grind.

The first year was the only good witches festival. Since then it has become a mindnumbing chore. My guess is that they don't want the average player to complete everything so they have a reason to come back the next year and chase all the new additions ontop of the missed out ones.

I just don't have it in me anymore to bother with it. I just want to get back to playing the game.

    Question.

What about events makes people think they should acquire every single item available? That might happen if you’re lucky or play enough but it also exhausts the events and waters down the market for the motifs and unique items. Imo I don’t like these types of exhaustive farming events. Tbh I don’t care at all about this festival given the general state of ESO, but many MMOs do this and people always assume that they deserve to be able to acquire 100% of available rewards and I disagree with that sentiment.

We'll be moving on to the first type of berries for the white indrik. As far as we know, the black indrik is now a done deal, as are the first two, unless the berries for the first three indriks get added to the Crown Store or reappear during future events.

If you have no problem with buying your way to some of the achievements (some players are, it's the only reason I bring it up) then you shouldn't have much issue. You'll be able to achieve the things that you can control, such as killing the skeletons, getting 100 skulls, etc. A number of the other things will depend on RNG. For some of them, the drops will occur in all skulls and the more skulls you get, the more you complete the achievements. Some of the drops are rarer than others however, such as the writs and the less common recipes. Since the marionette parts are new, the RNG remains to be seen, but it'll prolly be at least partially uncommon. OTOH, the Dremora styles drop from only the Dremora skulls, so you're limited on how many you can get per day. If you play one toon, that's gonna be 7 total, one of each kind, so not so good on the RNG scale. However, if you play multiple toons, you'll still be able to earn skulls of all kinds, but you'll also be able to get more Dremora skulls per day, as the 1 per type per day is Character based and not Account based. So more chances at the Dremora styles, and you can bank them and funnel them to a single toon, but then your skeleton kills and progress toward 100 skulls are spread out over various toons. My general approach (over several years, that is) has been to start the day by rotating through my toons onto the various types of bosses to get as many of the Dremoras as I can. Then when I've done that for the day, I then return to my first toon, and stay on that one, to progress on the skeletons & skulls, til getting the achieve, then moving onto the next toon, etc. I'll also bank any of the hollowjacks, recipes, writs so that I can funnel them to one toon at a time for the achieves. Just a couple cents worth...

I wonder if ZOS takes into account that many people travel (visit family etc.) during events like witches festival or new life festival (overlapping with RL holidays) and they have neither time nor opportunity to even log into the game.

However, although I've heard that additional morphs may appear next year, the previous ones probably won't reappear in future events. But I wouldn't discount their appearance in the Crown Store at some later date.

Probably enough time even if a new player - though I wouldn't mind the event running longer as it comes with a double XP buff which is always useful.
