My CP characters craft at Old Mistveil Manor every three days and carry those items with them. I can then pick up and turn in writs wherever they happen to be.

Now that the event is over, they have moved back to Riften.

My under 50 toons are generally parked in Daggerfall. I don't craft with them other than during the anniversary event. They hang out in Daggerfall so they can steal to pay for their riding training. They tend to spend ESO+ trials in Riften, however, hiding from Stuga

All my alts have returned to Vivec City for, as you said, the convenience of having everything so close together for writs. The only characters still parked in Rimmen are those I'm currently maining/leveling.

Same here, Vivec City just has everything close together

I'm still going to fight a few dragons, with my newest character, but since the end of the event I've focused on opening up the map and doing a few quests outside Elsweyr until I become lvl 50.

With my main/crafter I prefer to do the writs in vivec as I had absolute trouble finding the crafting stations in Rimmen

My other characters do whatever they do in all parts of Tamriel

I'm parked in Rimmen anyhow, so I'm staying. But it's funny to see how much things have dropped off. Without the event to drive the population, dragons are pretty much just sitting at all three spawns and never being attacked now. This zone isn't even that old and it already feels a bit dead just because the event is over. Same for crafting writs, the city was pretty busy last week, but I see a fraction of people around when doing them today. Maybe folks are just burned out from the event, but I hate seeing all these DLC zones with content built for groups of players that cannot be done by most players by themselves so they sit around undone until an event or those players come along that love to solo that stuff for the challenge.

Do you live in the Sugar Bowl Suite, or in the Hall of the Lunar Champion? I've got both, of course-- since they're free (yay!)-- but the Suite just seems a little more convenient, aside from the Hall being closer to the crafting area.

My House is actually Sleek Creek in Rawl, however that may possibly change once, what is it called, Lucky Cat Landing is released in Senchal.

My main NA character lives in Vivec City. My main EU character lives in Daggerfall.

During the Elsweyr event, both of them moved to Rimmen. It was nice to spend some time in Rimmen, even if it was mostly to do daily crafting writs, go to the bank, go to NPC merchants to sell stuff, go to the outlaws refuge, and park my characters at the Sugar Bowl Suite when they weren't off earning their daily event tickets, working on the Pathfinder achievement, collecting skyshards, and otherwise running around Elsweyr doing quests and delves.

Now that the event is over, they've both moved back home. Rimmen is okay, but I still prefer Vivec City for crafting, because all of the stations, the turn-in location, the bank, and even the outlaws refuge are so close together. And even though Daggerfall is more spread out than Rimmen in that respect, I've been crafting in Daggerfall for so long that the running around is more of a familiar routine than a chore.

    What about you?

Do you take up residence in a zone when there's an event there-- assuming you have housing in that zone-- or do you just take the wayshrines to get to the event zone each day and head back home after you're finished in that zone for the day?

And if you do take up residence in the event zone, do you stick around for a while after the event is over, or do you head back to your usual home zone?

I don't know. I fast travel all over the place using wayshrines, so this isn't really a decision I have to make.

Most of mine prefer Vivec City, but I did shift a few to Rimmen during the event — it was more convenient there than I had realized, once I learned my way around. Not sure if I’ll leave anybody there or not.

Usually I stick with Vivec, but jump around to Rawl’kha (outfit station, bank, outlaw refuge, writ turn-in, traders, and stable *so* close to wayshrine), Alinor (fast writs but everything else is a ride thru a pretty city), and Mournhold (fast writs and master writ turn-ins, but the bank is a PITA).

My character doesn't have a base of operations, she wanders where the wind blows her. I think she'll stay in Rimmen for the foreseeable future, there are still quests to do, dragons to slay and books to read.

After a while, she'll wander off and stay somewhere else, probably by Thursday week at the latest

All my alts are still parked in Catspaw Counting House in Rimmen - including #17 that I just made today (to hold the countless items farmed during the event). I did my Elsweyr dailies last night - and plan to again this evening - but didn’t complete Dragon Hunt due to lack of other players. I. Just. Can’t. Let. It. Go. ;)

Yeah, I was tempted to stick around in Rimmen, especially because I haven't completed all of the content in Elsweyr yet. My initial impression of Rimmen (back when Elsweyr launched) wasn't great, but actually spending some time there has changed my impression of Rimmen for the better.

I think personally the biggest pro I have for Rimmen is that there's no NPCs singing like in Alinor.

Yeah, I didn't necessarily have trouble finding the crafting area, and the way they're laid out is nice-- I'd hit the cooking fire first, then do Alchemy, Jewelry, Enchanting, Clothing, Blacksmithing, and Woodworking in that order, making a counterclockwise circle that ended up where I could just jump off the ledge and run to the turn-in crates. And on my NA main I can usually skip Provisioning and Alchemy due to making multiples of everything at a time.

But every so often I would turn from the NPC merchants, bookshelves, or crafting stations and get turned around somehow, so I'd have to take a few seconds to look about and reorient myself. Something about the layout almost turns it into a maze of sorts, which is very simple to navigate unless you take a wrong turn somehow. :)

Rimmen definitely took me a little while to get familiar with; and I cringed when I was doing the zone questline and needed to go back to the palace, because it's such a PITA to go to. But as with any city that's new to me, once I got my mental map of everything it got a lot easier.

[Edit: And I absolutely agree about the bank in Mournhold!]

You know, I never did any of the Elsweyr dailies; that's one thing I definitely need to go back for. And I haven't done any of the Group Bosses yet; I tried to do one with another random player who was already there, and we were both high CP-- which in my case definitely does not mean high DPS-- but we got wiped out pretty quickly.

I started playing ESO about 6 months ago, and I started with Summerset being my default tutorial. That kinda made Alinor became home to me due to it being the starter area.

I looked at Vivec city for a home spot, and I tried it on a couple of characters, but since I was doing the Daily Delve's in Summerset, that made me choose Alinor as a home base instead of Vivec city.

I tried Rimmen when Elsweyr came out, but I didnt like the crafting arrangement, or the fact that the turn in was on the other side of town. Also the bank is not close.

I park my characters wherever they happen to be when I decide to log for the night.

    Vivec.

    Middle of a delve.

    The Alik'r zombie beach.

    Hills of Cyrodiil.

    Imperial Sewers.

Wouldn't recommend that last one; I once respawned in the radius of one of those banner bosses and it killed me :expressionless: That didn't stop me from continuing to do it, however...

There are only 3 dragon fights...3! compared to everything else in the zone. Maybe you could include a few of the world bosses (though I have reasonably soloed all of the ones in Elseweyr already). So let's be honest here - the vast bulk of content in Elsweyr is solo-friendly.

I for one was pleasantly surprised to finally come across a challenge on the landscape in this game where it's actually nice to have a group with you. So please, let's not nerf Dragons (if that's where you are going with this). I like them the way they are.

Maybe add them to the activity finder or something if people are having a hard time getting groups for them. But let's keep them challenging and designed for actual group-play please. Because having 3 enemies on the landscape (again, just 3!) that you can't easily dispatch alone really isn't so bad, especially on what is suppose to be a multiplayer game.

My main character/crafter has left Rimmen behind and gone back to Mournhold. I find crafting anywhere else a little inconvenient, since I constantly have to travel to Mournhold anyway to hand in Master Writs to Mister Grouchy-Butt.

The only other character I log onto every day is my Necro to finish up her horse training, and she is currently parked at the stable outside Skywatch. I haven't touched any of my other 4 characters for weeks/months. They are all max level, and maxed on horse training. Several of them have also finished Cadwell's Silver and Gold, so I'm a bit burned out on all those questlines for a while too. :/

I do agree Vivec is the most convenient place to craft, and probably Alinor second. If it weren't for master writs in Mournhold, I might relocate, but Vivec also has a lag problem due to the high traffic in the area, and Alinor as well. I find that annoying.

As far as houses, I own all the cheap ones and Inn rooms, but prefer my Christmasy Snow Globe house. The Arteum house is a hassle to get out of, and the only other larger house I own is Grymharth's Woe. Around Witch's Festival, I switch to the Coven house, since I have it decorated for Halloween all year. :)

I haven't bought the snow globe house yet, because IIRC it requires crowns, and I've stayed away from buying any houses and other collectibles that require crowns. (However, I did buy the collector editions of the first four DLCs when they were on sale during the annual celebrations associated with them, despite already having those DLCs as part of the Guilds & Glory bundle, but that was only because I always buy the collector editions of any new DLCs or chapters, and the sale price was cheaper than buying the collectibles separately.)

As for the Artaeum house, it's true that you need to walk a bit to go from the entrance/exit to the wayshrine, but I still find it to be a convenient house to fast travel to if I've got a bounty, simply because there's no risk of running into guards between the house and the wayshrine. Not that other houses aren't convenient for that as well, but I use the villa as my dump site for all of the furnishing items that I come across when looting, and I always take the time to loot the urns, farm any nodes, and use the crafting stations to deconstruct gear and refine raw materials on my way to the wayshrine.

I haven't decorated the coven house yet, but I do have some grisly furnishings that I've got stashed away in the villa and some of my pre-villa housing, so I should take the time during the Witches Festival to do it up properly. :)
