Why does templar not have a cast time on its class ult?

You guys are all about consistency and standards, yet templar has an aoe ult that costs nothing, deals "quite a bit" of damage and is an insta cast, completely cancellabile skill. Wtf? Devs, be consistent and buff the other classes by removing their cast times. It's an extremely *** mechanic. You could try to play some class that use cast time ults to figure it out.

I didn't ask for a templar nerf, I asked for all cast times to be removed...

I agree tbh theres no consistency at all. I'd much prefer all ults to have no cast time though and im sure many of you would too.

You are right, that's why, some time ago, I proposed the addition of a cast time to surprise attack! I agree with you and the "cast time class" identity that nbs have been given over time shall be preserved. We really don't want that class to be fun again, do we? That might incentivate people to come back and spend money, and that would be bad!

You know the only thing they will consider is adding a cast time to Templar’s ultimates, so this becomes a “nerf Templars” thread regardless.

It's not plar powerfantasy I guess, it's about big heals, deny of movement for an opponent and high burst. For nb powerfantasy looks like this: strike your enemy with devastating attack, but wait a second. Or some more if your ping is 200+, maybe have a little nap while it lands. Oh, opponent dodged? Too bad, maybe some other day. At least better than granting free immov pot to an enemy, right. Then just be stomped by no cast time, hard hitting aoe ult maybe with a stun attached to feel consequences of being nb while can't even move. Yeah, sounds good.

Cast time don't belong anywhere really, just revert this "change" so we may have at least one reason to play this game unironically.

ZoS: We've heard you loud and clear about cast times, so we are standardizing all skills in the game to line up with our new cast time rules. All skills will now have a .8 second cast time. This allows for counterplay as well as eliminating the long standing bug called "animation canceling".

The cast time is to deal with an edge case where you use your ult and are killed before the damage applies, wasting the ult.
