Nonpet Magsorc Question

I havent really played eso in a long time. The changes to the class in the last year have kinda killed it for me. Have been getting the urge to log on and do some pvp. Mostly play in cyro, probably going to be solo. Was wondering if I should do a glass cannon build or a tanky build with sustain.

For PvP, you want to make it chunky, and get the CC you can manage. Having pets is still a very good idea for PvP because they're an excellent distraction, but if you really don't want to use them, you're not locked in.

I agree with you OP. This class was my main and now I consider my DK to be. I just have more fun with the DK now.

Mag sorc is underwhelming to say the least. I have changed mine into a trial healer and its not even that great at that. Its bad for pve dps. I havent used it consistantly in BGs for about 4 months.

It still holds its own in ipen world simply because its mobile. Next patch tou may aswell go glass canon frankly with the changes 😎

The bis gear for non pet sorc is bright throats boast and crafty alfiq. With sorc everything scales well off of max magika. You'll need lots of sustain so run recovery glyphs on jewls. If you're a Breton you can probably use one or 2spell dmg glyphs. Run an infused flame staff with a shock enchant and either resto or sword and board back bar. Your bread and butter combo will be entropy > curse > crushing shock/force pulse/elemental weapon > streak (you want to time this as your curse procs) and then frags.

That's one way to do it but there are plenty other options. Depending on your build elegance can outperform alfiq.

Also, while infused is nice and easy, I almost always prefer to run sharpened with different poisons to swap in depending on the fight I expect. It's a lot more flexible.
