They’ll go away when ZOS decides they go away, not when an online poll of a tiny minority of players says so.

I'm okay with them making money, they've built a great game. Also nothing in the crates is p2w, just cosmetic...

This poll is meaningless. The poll Zos takes every quarter concerning crown crates is the only poll that maters.

Crown Crates are like scratch-and-win tickets. They appeal to a certain demographic. ZOS has to cover all the bases to monetize.
If you don't like Crown Crates, you are not in that demographic that likes them, and probably there's a disconnect in understanding the reason for their appeal.

Where is the option "I don't care if they're in the game or not because I never ever buy them"?
Really, I even forget to open those which are awarded for free.

I am happy they are in there. Revenue stream for ZOS and it has zero effect on anyone that does not use them.

I like opening them. Has this "gambling" feeling to it, so I want them to stay

(And no, by gambling I don't mean I spend every penny on them, just the anticipation)

Been married 10 years. That's a whole different ballgame you're getting into there.

I think they are fun. Then again, I have self control. I usually buy 4 and see what I get.

I wish they would go away, but... I know that's not likely until and unless they either stop making money from them or are faced with worldwide legislation against them. So... I will just sigh and play the gamble when there is something I want (which usually I get with gems I gain from decon anyhow)

I don't have a problem with them, they're entirely optional and aren't remotely P2W. I have no interest in them personally, but for those that like them, why take them away? What alternative source of revenue is being proposed by those who want rid of them? I've yet to see any answers to that particular question.

I never buy them, and dislike a lot of the overt monitization in ESO's cash shop - but then again, if it means whales cover the costs of running the game so I can play free, what do I care.

Even when they know it is long shot odds for getting one of the rare items. I get you.

Crown crates are fine with me. What bothers me is gem exclusive items for ridiculous amounts of gems.

Gamble Crown crates will go away when made illegal, not before. Weak and easily addicted prey is too tempting source of revenue to give up voluntarily.

They'll go away when ZOS is ordered to make them go away by some court. But! Not before a round of appeals.

I've never bought one - opening the free ones demonstrated to me that they weren't worth it. But I'm happy to spend the gems I got from those free crates on the mid-range stuff each season.

Hey if people want to blow hundreds on crates I say let them. They are big part of maintaining this game as a profitable business.

They are just gambling. Ok - you don’t get money back from the roll of the dice - but you get things players value likely just as much.

Totally unethical in a game with so many young people.

Gambling has age requirements irl - with good reason.

People still get hooked even then though - terrible addiction, I’m sure.

I accept this game is a business, but the commercial line should def be drawn at exposing younger people to that risk.

They will never go away unfortunately. The real question is how far Zos will go in locking items behind them while increasing the cost.
