PC NA pvp is slowly dying

i'm not surprised though kind of sad to see but its all the devs fault. Peak time it is just unplayable more so for people like me who don't live in america (aussie). off peak times i can be riding around the map on a 60 speed mount with rapids and not find anybody for 10+ minutes. Balancing is just crazy and that can be a topic for another post. what are your thoughts on the state of pvp?

Your an aussie, the majority of people on the server are going to be asleep when prime time will be for you. Plus assie internet tends to suck so its gonna be even more unplayable.

Yes even for those with good ping prime time is bad. But bro, why you playing on NA prime time from overseas? Maybe do something else in the morning? Exercise, take care of life etc and then play later on. There usually action off hours that works just fine for those of us living as far as possible from the servers. If you’ve got a decent ISP and a good routing service you should be ok. Balance looks good for next patch to me with the changes. Most builds aside from perhaps a few cheesy pure DoT builds should work just fine with some micro adjustments.

I play from AU too... I play in the early evening & usually I am getting splatted by huge AD zergs. Many, many yellow. At times it does get quiet & I might try a different campaign or go to IC.

I also avoid American peak times... lag fest with our pings.

The only reason I'm out of PVP are the disconnects. I cannot fathom how SWTOR can deliver me 146 ms ping and ESO deliver me 500+ on a good night when I'm not being disconnected.

Is it dying because of technical issues or because there’s a steep learning curve, a perception that the vibe of PvP is unpleasant and the fact that after a while fighting over the same bridge and keep over and over again is a bit dull?

@DeathPK Some of us on DC side aren't playing at the moment because the map is already blue when we log on. If there wasn't faction lock, we'd probably hop on AD side and help push back up. Sorta waiting till the new campaign without faction lock starts back up. We'll see....

gotta clear some things up for the simple minded. it is not my "trash" internet because any other game i will get 220-230 ping. eso i get 330+ outside of pvp non peak time, in pvp i get 400+. even watching NA players play on 100 ping looks horrible. explain that to me.

For the simple minded, what you’re seeing is server calculation time. The more people the more overloaded the server gets with calculations, the longer it takes. It’s been this way for ages. Most good players avoid prime time because of it. But if you’re getting 330+ off hours outside of PvP it’s either your ISP or lack of a good routing service or both. Mudfish works for some, other use Exit Lag or WTFast. I play from Thailand though and manage 260-280 ping off hours. Prime Time is usually 300-330 unless it’s just a real bad day.

yea ik i used WTFast but i shouldn't have to pay 15AUD a month because a large company has such a poor routing. i don't use it anymore cause i have canceled my eso+ and stopped playing this patch and looks like to be next patch aswell

I mean prime time talk aside is pretty hard to deny that it IS NOT dieing. I remember a time where there was like 3-4 full to 2 bar PvP campaigns now there is 1 and only at prime, I logged on yesterday morning, your Aussie prime time 1 bar across the board.

His statement still holds water PvP is dieing a fiery death

I wouldn’t call it a slow death. This year it has been rapid. Balance isn’t even the real culprit. It is the lag. The performance is terrible even for those of us in NA. Everyone I know that has quit this year is all because of skills, cc breaks, and bars not swapping in fights.

Updates are not bringing us back this time either because it has not been fixed and getting exponentially worse for the last 2 years.

I normally play on PC/NA primetime. Its been really rough performance wise. For me, it's not so much that its been dramatically worse, as much as all the issues I'd been having at the start of the year have continued, for months and months. Its draining.

Lag in every large battle, crashing to log-in during most large battles, and stuck in combat haven't seen any improvement for months. Its definitely worse than it was at the start of the Vivec campaign, when we had more players on during Primetime.

I'm hanging in there hoping that ZOS gets some performance iasues fixed because I love playing with my PVP guild.

Lag was fixed over the last week - ping in cyro in *semi-peak* time was 243 for Sydney. That said, populated keep takes and bunfights on the side were smooth as butter compared to the last month or two. I was even able to toppling charge follow a streaking sorc without a hiccup XD

I haven't played during full peak time as that occurs around lunchtime for me and I like to live my rl.

It's a bit of both. The technical issue are bad enough that it makes the boredom that much worse. I only play in Cryodiil about 1, rarely 2 times a week when my guildmates are on. (and a lot of times we don't even bother with Cryodiil. We just go do group dungeons or raids if we have enough people.)

It is the same situation on Xbox NA. Peak time Kaal is too laggy. Last night many of us logged off because our skills weren’t even hitting the enemies.

Is OP really complaining about low population during off peak times? Even when PvP drew about 10x the interest it does today off peak times were still low population.
