Inspiration for the next playable race

✭Yeah they're not just going to "add" races willy-nilly. Only time Bethesda added playable races was with Morrowind, with Orcs and Imperials, though Orcs already existed since Arena, just as a basic enemy, and Imperials were, arguably, already there too, since the Imperial Province was there.
Out of the remaining, non-extinct by this time thanks to the Knahaten Flu races, there's the Imga, monkey-people who are supposedly wherever Falinesti is, the Maormer, as much as people want it for some reason, it doesn't make sense (They despise the Altmer, they want to steal Summerset for themselves, they wouldn't support any of the alliances and no your "oh I'm a special defector" doesn't work if there's a thousand running around) and aren't a people of Tamriel. Akaviri races? The invading forces were either killed, would still be killed on sight if alive (Kamal), or have been assimilated into (mostly) Imperial culture and what Akaviri (Tsaesci) blood they have is diminutive at best. According to that Murkmire lore master questions thing, supposedly some Lilmothiit survive, but again, "oh I'm a special survivor" doesn't work if there's a thousand running around.
The way the lore's written, there's very little chance for them to reveal, revive or the like, or add known races of Nirn to the game; the only chance we could ever get is if we get a game that takes place in the First Era or earlier (pre-Knahaten Flu) Second Era, where many races are still alive."Best" healer PC/NA7 -

Well theoretically, there wouldn't be thousands as far as lore is concerned. Prophet isn't over here talking to thousands of vestiges, he's talking to one. You. You're the only player character, despite being surrounded by others.

✭I want Centaurs. They fell through the buggy floors of TES II, but I still want them. If I can't have them as a playable race (and I won't get them for sure due to pretty much everything, starting with the model and not ending with armor variants), I would want them as mounts.
At least that.
But birdfolk other than hagraven and harpies would probably not make much sense during this era, yet the sort of Dark Seducers they had in Daggerfall and Battlespire (winged folk) might be a possibility.PC EU.

✭✭@LizziAS The Maormer are indeed a separate, distinct race. The split from the Aldmer- (AKA "proto-Mer") happened a long, long time ago in the Merethic Era, with the Mer that split away eventually becoming what they are today.
But anyway, It is highly doubtful that we will see any new races added, due to the fact that TES already has a long-established universe. After all, if we brought in a birdlike race, well, where do they all disappear off to after 2E? Where did they come from? There's nothing like that in the other games. This is the same reason we will never get Falmer or Dwemer as playable, either. Why the resurgence? Why didn't they stick around?
Now, what we COULD get is skins that emulate these races (to a degree). I mean, you can get a reptilian skin and put it on a Man/Mer. I'll be surprised if we don't see a Falmer-esque skin sometime in the future.Struggling to find a new class to call home.Please send help.0 -

✭✭✭Anything that uses a different body shape. Every race in ESO right now uses the same body. Its one thing to stretch out assets, but the body customization in this game is pathetic.
In wow, orcs look like orcs, not humans. Tauren look like tauren, not humans etc.
Seeing as how ESO takes place what...a 1000 years in the past or something. How about just creating a "Lost Isle of Dwemer" and create some cool short stocky dwarves (think Warhammer Online) for us to play with.
