My O.G. Elderscrolls playstyle for every game has been Conjuration Mage, I very much want to be able to use not only the daedra that sorcs get to summon by default, But many more like Flame or frost Atronachs.
"I don't use it or like it so it shouldn't be in the game" is a bit ridiculous. I very much want a wider variety of magic skills to be available to characters that want to use them, I do think the approach going forward should be like the necromancer summons as bar space is precious. Rip my twilight you were gone too soon and should be a Bis skill if you are gonna take two bar slots.
I hate pets and my Sorc doesn't use them, but yeah, they should have them. However, they should be auto-flagged as breaking the law in certain areas, like necro abilities.
I don’t think they should be forced to use pets to be competitive. I view pets as similar to damaging proc sets, they are an easy source of constant damage for players that don’t want to learn a fast-paced complicated rotation. This is why pet builds have always been the go-to build for things like heavy attack builds.
The problem is IMO that far too often 1-2 pet Sorc builds become the meta for the class, forcing competitive PVE and PVP players into a relatively passive build, with too few active skills, that does not suit their playstyle.
On top of that, the useless Tormentor activation and the AoE stun on the Scamp have always been pain points.
