Eso is in my opinion still one of the best mmo's there is. I've played it for many years with 7 close buddy's on the ps4.
A vew months ago we all decided to leave eso behind us. I like to tell you the reason. In our group we all had our favorate character and build. But time after time our builds got nerfed to the ground.
Perma blocking dk, blazing Templar, Perma hiding Nb, shield stacking sorc, dot Dk, oblivion damage builds, unlimited teleporting sorc, light attack shield breaker, sap tank, wings spamming dk, health stacking tank, werewolf bleed, etc. Every time we have found something strong it is getting destroyed with the next patch.
We understand that adapting to new updates is part of the game, but why must this be triggered by nerfes? In our opinion you can also create this affect by using buffs. My friend who used a shield spamming sorc had absolutly no problem with the arrival of the shield breaker set and the broken lightning staff mechanics. We just needed to adapt but it was because of the arrival af a new set, not because of a nerf.
You can say that the old blazing Templar was broken, but perhaps his counter builds were just to weak. I had epic battles against sorcs who spammed teleports. All these op builds were extremely fun to play, and it is sad that this is taken from us because of the policy to create balance trough nerfes.
A side affect of this nerving frenzy is that every build became only good in just a few game modes. In the past you could create a character that was viable in dungeons, solo play, pvp, maelstrom arena, etc. But now for every game mode you need a special build to be competitive. For a regular gamer it is frustrating that it isn't easy to change you're build, you need tons of coin or crowns to change a character from top pve to top pvp to maelstrom arena.
because of this you are forced to create multiple characters. But for a player that is only online for about 10 hours a week, it is almost impossible to create multiple end game characters. What happens is that we had to choose, which part of the game do we solely want to focus on. Excluding us from the other cool parts of the game.
Nerving, Nerving, Nerving made us leave this game, I hope that with a next game the policy would change to buffing things and that for every Op build there comes a counter instead of a nerf. It would have made us play the game a lot longer. Sorry for my English grammer
