Characters that don't slide-walk is indeed a lovely thing. Now if only all my female characters stood vertically on level ground instead of canted forward in a manner that should have them tipping into a face-plant ... I mean I am happy for good motion but I like good idleness too.

As far as the post about being able to stand in place and turn, if you draw your weapon you can turn to face in a different direction, or walk backwards or sideways. Just a workaround, but at least it works.

I like the inverse kinetics and how they animate the character. ESO has really good third person, save flappy winged pets, and fair first person.

Someday, though, I am going to play a game that has both really good first person and really good third person. If that ever happens, you'll never see me again. :)

There's this really neat 1st person camera mod for Mass Effect Andromeda that has a ton of potential.

Maybe that is why I like the 1h + shield charge better than the 2h charge.

I might be remembering wrong but I think the shield charge runs at target, while the 2h charge floats.

I'd been thinking about this for a long time now and I feel like I just need to mention it cause in my eyes concerning the gaming world, it's deserving of HUGE props, considering MANY other games decide to take the lazy route.

When your character takes a step, their foot remains planted on the ground during that step.

To be more precise, in ESO if you pay attention to your character's walk animation, you'll see that when you take a step and the foot falls onto the ground, your foot will land on a spot and STAY on that spot as your body moves forward during that step. I don't know about you but to me that is monumental for immersion. In many other games I've noticed the character movement makes it seem like the character isn't actually interacting with the world. The player model will have movement animations but somewhere down the line in development they must have not synced the animation with the movement speed of your character along the X Axis. This will result in your character seemingly floating across the ground, with the foot you're taking the step on sliding on the ground even though it's planted in that step. In ESO, this does not happen. During the animation, when the foot falls to the ground, it actually stays in that spot while the rest of your character model moves along the axis, giving you the sensation that you are actually interacting with the world physically.

    That's just, really neat.

Also, Inverse Kinematics was one of my favorite Quality of Life improvements ever made.

Character movement is nice, mounts....not so much.
