"When you see a player using class abilities, you should have little doubt which class they are playing, and it should look awesome!"

My question is:
How am I supposed to see what ability was used if my opponent cancel its animation ?



Edit: removed the animation cancelling from the title as many seems allergic to it.

    I mean animations' main thing still shows. If I AC a force pulse, you can still see that part of the animation happen. It just doesn't play the entire action of shoving the staff in the air to cast said force pulse.

    Now desyncs like with DK's breath skill being spammed or animations not playing (invisible enemy skills or no telegraphs) are another thing.

    Look at your death recap. Look at your opponent, chances are they’ve buffed themselves up. It’s really easy to tell what class your opponent is playing lol.

    1) Most people here dont care about how glitched animations are due to AC, or how bad it looks.

    They just care for effectiveness.
    They think that AC is something difficult to "mAsteR" and they fool themselves into thinking that they are geniuses and better than the majority of players, when in fact everybody can learn to AC within 20min to a week.

    For them, in their imagination, AC is a tool that makes them stronger and they are not going to let go.
    If there was a glitched feature as ugly as animation cancelling, let's say their character would twerk their ass while masking a burst ability line up, they would still want it in the game.

    2) Then there is the active combat argument....
    Please. Gw2 and Tera had active combat. Even bdo is doing better.
    In eso you use the same rotation no matter what your enemy is: roque brawler nuker tank.
    Pressure turtling
    Pressure turtling
    Proc burst
    Pressure turtling.
    No action/reaction.
    Just rotation.

    3) Then we got Zos. Make combat feel more impactful and better looking or make some mounts and pets for Crown Store?


    4) The solution is plain but not simple to pull off.
    a) block, dodge and damage shield should be the only 3 actions to cancel an animation and TERMINATE the previous actions input/output in order for players to react to enemy atks and outplay them.
    b) Light atks should be useful in a maner of resource or additional ulty gain, since they are no longer used to add glitched dps
    c) all actions except block, dodge and damage shield should activate at the COMPLETION of the animation. Block, dodge and damage shields should take place at a quicker speed.
    d) channeling abilities should input/output on a predetermined time space. 0.5s?? They should break if the target creates a reasonable distance or if the caster is CCd.
    e) bash should not deal dmg. Only Slam, the SnB ability should do that. Bash should remain an interrupting technique.

    But oh well. Not gonna happen.

    Maybe the OP tries to block cancel Jabs on his magplar. That would explain why he thinks that magplar is weak right now.

    You can still clearly see what is being used, lets go with the example of engulfing Flames.

    Player A casts engulfing Flames, you see the Animation of the character casting and you see the effect of the ability itself aka the flame breath coming out of Player A´s character.

    Now Player B casts engulfing Flames but swap cancels the Animation of the character casting and you still see the effect of the ability itself aka the flame breath coming out of Player B´s character.

    Player C does the same as Player A and B, only that he cancels the Animation with a dodgeroll and, as before, you still see the effect of the ability itself.

    Conclusion: You can still see which ability was used based on the abilities effect, in fact in PvP I look more at the actual effect than the Position of the weapon arm of the character model to see what my Opponent is doing.

    If you're referring to the nerf loving OP, well... It's a public forum. As long as no one is being offensive, the debate is valid, and questioning the validity of your counterpart is just as important in any debate as the arguments are. In this particular case, delparis does have a solid valid question, but he/she turned themselves into a forum meme at this point and this turns his posts into less serious posts. This fact is just as sad as it is funny.

    As for me, I'm really bothered by flooding too. We had so many topics already about both AC and the Deep Dive news, so this here thread is, by it's own recognition in the title, flooding. Flooding isn't allowed here.

    Why do you expect me to take a self proclaimed flooding post seriously, even if it raises a valid point? OP is being objectively and willingly obnoxious on this one.
