Movement speed cap?

Hello,

Not sure were this belongs so sorry. Before I had a break from eso I remember zos was putting in a limit for movement speed because people in cyrodiil carrying the scrolls were un-catchable.

Now there is jewelery traits that give you movement speed which is a bit confusing.

Can anybody tell me does this limit still exist and what is the limit, please? :)

AFAIK the current speed cap is 100% over base movement speed. Speed increases include in no particular order, note that some buffs affect only sprint, some all movement speed:
    Sprint 40%
Major Expedition from skills, potions, various gear 30%
Minor Expedition from gear, not sure about potions or skills that give it, but probably are some 10% speed increase.
    Orc racial 10% Sprint Speed
Medium Armor up to 15% sprint speed
CP 2% overall movement speed increase possible
Steed Mundus 10% movement speed, 15% with all gold divine armor
Swift jewelry 5% movement speed purple per piece, 6% gold per piece.
20% speed boost from harvesting a ... climber bug in Murkmire.

Probably forgetting some, maybe someone else will add.

There are apparently some changes to sprint mechanics in the next patch. Have not tested it.

    Pretty sure sprint is 30%
    Pretty sure it's 40%.
    SprintSpeed =
    (BaseWalkSpeed)*(1 + 0.40 + Set.SprintSpeed + Buff.MovementSpeed + Item.MovementSpeed + Set.MovementSpeed + Buff.SprintSpeed + Skill.MovementSpeed + Skill.SprintSpeed + Mundus.MovementSpeed)*(1 + CP.MovementSpeed)

This has always been a mystery to me. My main, from launch runs really fast. No potions or food. She kinda leans forward and just goes!

Tried to recreate her speed on other characters (same skill set) no luck.

Maybe she has a beta buff?

You sure about the steed stone? Never seen the movement speed bonus increase when wearing Divine armor, just the health recovery.

It does exist, but it's not meant to be easy to go FAST, there's a reason it's so hard to hit the speed cap.
Case in point, Cyrodiil before the swift nerf.
    That was...'fun'

they have nerfed Rapid manoever from the Cyrodiil Assault Skill line maybe a month ago.

That skill allows you to ride much faster, but also is active when walking. In the latter case, the nerf reduced it from 30 seconds to 8 seconds though.

As magicka characters have not enough stamina to sprint, this is extremely annoying for them.
    Example:

in Rimmen, you do your daily writs. As you no longer can walk quickly (nor run), you now mount your horse. Riding to the writ delivery station, you get the first loadscreen, sometimes 2 minutes long.
When you continue to the stable master, you get the second loadscreen.

This nerf has affected my gameplay massively, since then I explore a lot more seldom the environment (preferred to walk e.g. to quickly harvest nodes while looking around). Having to ride turns this experience from exciting to annoying, so I prefer to read some news instead.

For players who enjoy the openworld exploration character of the game and have less interest in Endgame content or PVP, the game is less attractive now.

No I am not, have not tested that one personally, just quoting other sources, so it may be that divines do not affect the speed boost.

As an aside, some advice for newer players who just hit CP160 without unlimited play time I wish I had been given early on, have some way to easily, reliably boost speed when running around doing this or that, especially questing or doing things when you can't mount. You will save an -immense- amount of time. The easiest way to do this is to buy an off-traited set of Cowards gear/Prisoners gear from guild traders or farm the set. It is dirt cheap in unwanted traits such as invigorating... which is actually a great trait for newer players wanting a speed boost. For stam characters, Prisoner's on weapons and jewelry, Cowards on body. Reverse for magicka. If on PC, get a gear swapping add-on so you can easily switch into and out of your speed set.

Magicka characters have Race Against Time (or the other morph Channeled Acceleration) which is far better than Rapids for magicka users - it costs magicka, leaving all your stamina available for sprinting.

Also, Channeled Acceleration lasts 12 seconds, although it does have a cast time.
Personally I prefer RAT - movement feels more fluid with it overall, although it does have to be recast every 4 seconds.

Thanks. Both though are far not as useful as rapid manoever before the nerf, active for 30 seconds.

So the problem remains - I lost fun in exploration and doing daily writs. The nerf should have been limited to there where it was (might have been) required - cyrodiil.
