I thought maybe it was a fluke/bad luck with the first character I turned the quests in for this morning, but the same thing happened to the second character that I've successfully done the dailies with until today, and ditto with the third. I can't see any point in trying again with a fourth character.

That's why I asked. If it was just rolling the dice three times, I could see that as bad luck.

I have just turned in the Elsweyr delve on my three EU characters. Two of them received Shimmering Sand; the other did not. I won't have time to test the situation on the NA Server before it goes down for maintenance.

Until yesterday I had been under the impression that there was nothing random about receiving Shimmering Sand in the reward coffer for the Elsweyr delve and Wb dailies. Gina's patch notes v5. 0.0. seemed to back this up:

New Motifs
Anequina Motif chapters, as well as the associated style item Shimmering Sand are obtained from completing delve and world boss dailies in Elsweyr. Pellitine Motif chapters, as well as the associated style item, Dragonthread, are obtained from completing Dragon Hunt dailies in Elsweyr.
Note that Dragon Hunt Dailies, and the Pellitine Motif that can be obtained by completing them, will both become available after Elsweyr's launch. Stay tuned!

If they are, indeed, random, then I can only conclude that, until yesterday, I had been extremely lucky because my 6 characters always received one in every Elsweyr delve and Wb daily reward coffer.

Yes, I was very pleasantly surprised to notice that deconstructing the three types of gear that my new Necro character obtained from turning in her three Elsweyr dailies often blessed her with Shimmering Sand or the Dragonthread style material

As for the value of the gear, I have appreciated being able to equip my three new characters on each server with sets so early in their respective incarnations.

it seems to be a bug that occasionally occurs. If you encounter it opening a box, don't open the other. Wait until the next day.

I had this maybe 3 times now in more than a month, with 1 to 2 of my 8 characters. Openiing the remaining boxes the next day solved it. Just the first one you opened is "lost".

Oh, I see now. Apologies; I think I misunderstood the topic!

I don't think I've always received the style material to the point where I thought it was something with a very high chance to drop.

Interesting, Markulrich. I will bear it in mind, although the theory doesn't tally with my experience this morning on the EU server: the character whose delve I turned in first received the Shimmering Sand, the next character didn't, but the third did.

Khajiit was of the understanding that they were always to be found in the rewards for the delve and world boss daily quests.

Guaranteed - like the lacquer stuff from the similar quests on Snooty Elf Island.

Yes, this is the reason that I try to do at least the delve in Summerset on my main each day (both servers). I realised the potential of the psijic Manor house about a year after we received it and the Alinor furnishings feel a perfect fit to me, but that Culanda Lacquer requirement rather puts the brakes on things Plus the Summerset dailies are far more time consuming to acquire said lacquers than the Elsweyr dailies.

On an aside, the towns on the Snooty Isle are my favourite in the game. I find them visually beautiful. Pity that so many Altmer are spiritually ***, most noticeably at the College in Auridon.

Some summerset bosses have a higher difficulty level than those in Elsweyr, though it depends on the specific boss.
B'Korgen or Graveld are a challenge even for 2-3 players.

A toon with good AOE (sorcerer) can do Queen of the reef (ss) alone. He can't do Willy Kee'Wa in elsweyr though.

Concerning the delves I see no huge difference, but am usually quicker in summerset. Also depends on the delve.
Collect tea leaves in elsweyr is quick, so is "destroy reef viper eggs" in summerset.

I meanwhile do the elsweyr bosses first after work, as then many people are around.
The elsweyr and summerset delves.
Sumerset bosses I skip meanwhile as I rarely find other players since elsweyr, just at weekend.

Still an issue as I have been doing dailies regularly on multiple characters for days and also deconning all Elsweyr gear as well and ZERO sand drops. Out of 30+ dailies...zero sand.

Yep, sand has definitely stopped dropping from dailies. Used to get one in every box

it happens now and then, more often late at night, more often at weekends, fridays.
Might be coincidence, no idea, but that's when it usually happens to me.

I do dailes with 9 toons, when I get a reward without sand, I no longer open the others the same day.

Usually then next day at late afternoon everything is fine again.
Very rarely I encounter it on 2 following days. (xbox EU)

as I wrote above: it is friday, and I suddenly got no shimmering sand in my first reward box.
Not opening the others now, will wait 2 days.
