Fishing Rare Baits

Thaslasnall
Are there any unique benefits or advantages to having Chub, Minnow, Fish Roe or Shad? If not, I personally feel there should be some form of benefit or advantage towards the rare baits. Just a idea recommendation re-write the Legendary Provisioning Recipes to have at least one of the rare baits included, so it may give some form of interest or value towards having Chub, Minnow, Fish Roe and Shad or evening increase the rare fish catch rate by a 15 to 30 percentage.

The only difference is how you acquire the baits. In this case, you get them only from fishing activities. And, oddly enough, you cant use these baits to any success in the waters you find them in.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

There is no benefit to using rare bait, only benefits I know of come from fishing in a group and using Artaeum pickled fish bowl.

No difference at all for me. I'm going for Master Angler right now and made an Excel table with droprates. I stopped recording after 500 entries in each type (common/uncommon) of bait, since the results were almost identical.

The only thing that improves your RNG at the moment is Artaeum pickled fish bowl as was mentioned above.

It would be awesome if rare baits could increase rare fish catches. It would really speed up the boooooring Master Angler grind.

I cant believe it is true, that rare baits dont increase the chance of finding rare fish. Why do they exists then?

I'm really surprised that fishing in this game hasn't been enhanced more. Catch a trinket or rare piece of armor once in a while or at least a one shot SUPER buff potion.

To increase the item loot pool. Their existence actually makes rare fish even rarer.

Your nerf suggestion is dumb. Learn to counter other players instead of having the game rebuilt to your ability level.

Couldn't you get a cool dagger while fishing in past?

There was a unique sword called Trueflame you could get in Stonefalls. They'll probably reintroduce it as an "artifact" outfit skin sometime in the future.

Just did Master Angler and it’s definitely true the baits don’t help at all - if anything they hurt in that they are neither a rare fish nor are they a Roe chance.

They seemed to drop quite a lot and when there’s only a few nodes for a water type and others are fishing too, pulling more bait is literally annoying. And I have ESO+.

The long grind gets a bit longer every time you pull bait :)
