Gimme your best blazing shield builds

I want this skill to be what is used to be when soft caps existed. Outside of them buffing it, which I hope they do, what can it be used for at the time being?

You are about 4 years late, blazing shield is no longer used in any serious build

I'm glad that this thread could highlight the skill's uselessness.

Please ZOS, this is my favourite skill in the game, next is probably sweeps, then the old breath of life, then a decent distance behind is ritual, channeled focus, and the old dark flare

Look up FearTurbos immortal templar build from back in the day

BoL is just my favourite thing to use well (when people take health spikes and you bring them back super speedy, saving then from the next tick, it feels good

)

I've tried to come up with a new build using Blazing Shield but it's just not viable. But if you want to reminisce and raise a glass to what was, I have plenty of blazing shield PvP footage on my link in my signature...

Please, if you know where, highlight a situation where I would be better off using that skill than another in a certain build, that isn't entered around it.

Radiant ward deals more damage than blazing shield on non-health builds already, and health builds can't sustain it.

I ask this honestly, let me know in what situation or build this skill is useful in, and deserves a skill slot more than the other contenders

What @Synozeer said is true, it's not viable anymore, not because of the Morrowind sustain nerfs but because they nerfed blazing shield into complete uselessness and the skill should honestly be reworked into a brand new skill. I try to make a new blazing shield build every update and it never works no matter how i do it. The skill is dead.

The thing is, its hard to build for since the shield scales with max health and nearby enemies. Its also hard to make into an efficient source of damage, since the damage done requires you to absorb a lot of damage first.

So unless you plan on standing in the middle of a bunch of enemies who are whaling on you, you probably won't get decent damage, and even there, its not going to be enough to kill enemies unless you have a group with you or rely on other damage skills to do the bulk of the work.

Blazeplars used to be able to do that, pre-Morrowind nerfs, and get good damage from the skill. Now, not so much, because ZOS didn't like seeing Blazeplars 1vX with high health, high sustain, high damage builds.

So if you are regularly throwing yourself into the middle of a crowd of enemies, you might get some use out of it...but Blazing Shield isn't the star of the show anymore.

Like you, I have tried to make it useful over other skills and no luck. I so miss the days of 14-17k pops on every target near you. It was immensely fun. I have to pull out my old blaze par emp vids. It was amazing how tanky they were, and people just couldn't resist the chance to try and take you down. So much better than the current perma-block tanks that can't do squat for damage. I really do wish they would revamp it. That skill may be the one that has been beat the hardest by the nerf stick.
