The Hunt Leader is Coming

Stam Sorcs will finally have Stam pets! I’m actually excited to play this as a class. Oh yeah. Another old Maelstrom set finally being useful for the masses. It actually works pretty good for Stam Necromancer atm. Obviously not BiS or anything but viable? Heck yeah!

It’s been useable for Stam wardens as well, if you choose to use the Bear Ult.

If it worked for Blastbones or Shalks, would be amazing. Hint hint wink wink.

At the time this set came out there was only one pet class. And as a stamina set, using magic based pets never made sense. Until now....

Have fun grinding that gear out! Way to keep breathing life back into this tired ol place.

Will stam sorcs actually use the pet?
I heard it has pretty low damage and the special ability heal still costs magicka

Would love to use Hunt Leader as I still have a complete set laying around in my bank

When they said stamina based pet for sorcerer I thought hunt leader straight away

For me I’m thinking PvP more than PvE and yes the heal from the pet costs magicka but it is a health based heal so in PvP you get a health increase just for being there but also a 50% heal cut with battle spirit so I will wait and see what I get when the patch is live (console) if it is as close to dark deal heal then it maybe worth it

With crit surge, hunt leaders set heal and the pet heal I’m hoping it will be decent and the damage of the pet should be increased with it being based off stamina not magicka, it’s worth a build try to me anyways

I think @Waffennacht had a necromancer build using it for a minute. The Shepard of Rot. Then he changed it for some reason. I’ve got other things in mind for it myself.

There’s some weird wording about the clanfear changes. It’s strange that it would change to a Stam Pet but still need magic to work. Maybe they changed it from a heal ability to damage? Idk

@kylewwefan I did indeed use it and it works great. I changed from it because the whole build needed to shift more to offense; had nothing to do with the set itself

With necro pets getting hit so far in the pts, I'd definitely look towards sorc (if Stam let is cool) in the future for the set

Yep.

I regularly see whine posts about how difficult it is to target pet sorcs. I may dust off my stam sorc and use the clannfear and maybe engine guardian as body blockers in pvp. Apparently it will totally befuddle most players and shut down their ability to hit me, lol. A bit of damage, an off-stat heal, plus 2% weapon damage, 20% health/stam regen and 8% health....not too bad to have slotted.

Now if they would just finish up the Sorc "identity" and make them the "ranged" stamina class with stamina versions of curse, frags and wrath.
