Mac (may not be specifically?) client, audio reverb

Occasionally, and I cannot say what specifically sets it off, my character's voice and world sounds (footsteps and activations) suddenly gain reverb. When it does, it lasts until I log out or quit the game. I can't say how annoying this is.

Anyone else seen (aka hears!) this and can confirm?

I've searched audio option to try to disable reverb altogether, but there isn't that much exposed as options like that on the audio side.

Is this happening when you switch over to another program running on your Mac?

If so, another program that is audio related could be causing the reverb in ESO. Try disabling background programs such as streaming or Discord to see if you can reproduce this reverb issue.

Ah, that's most likely the case. Thanks. Once I discover what is doing it I'll see if I can revert it in a similar way.

I do use background sound in-game and do change focus a bit, but most likely Discord is the culprit as neither iTunes nor Amazon Music have given me grief in the past and don't run them that often anyway.

Google Play Music is a whole different story - it is an absolute punk when it comes to chewing CPU for no good reason.
