ZOS - FYI - We play & Pay for fun - You're spoiling it

Seriously, WTAF is going on with this game?

Elsweyr buffs skills
Scalebreaker nerfs same skills
Dragonhold nerfs same skills to oblivion

Why are we seeing PvP combat leads screwing up our abilities throughout the game which is mostly PvE based?
Why, after 5 years of tinkering are you hitting us with such MASSIVE nerfs?
A game of this age should be fine-tuned, this is more like it's in beta, do you randomly give each update to a different team in the office so they can mold the game the way they like, only for the next update to have absolutely no bearing on the previous update because it's done by a different team who don't communicate or even read the previous update patch notes?

As the title says, we are all here because this is our leisure time, we play, and some of us pay, for fun, there are lots of other things we could be doing but we'd rather be doing this. However if this becomes less fun then the other things will be come more attractive and we may well play this less and the other more. Do you understand ZOS? If it's no fun or if folks perceive that you have removed the fun then don't be surprised if your login numbers start to fall.

ZOS - MAKE ESO GREAT AGAIN, you can start by undoing all the nerfs in this patch and then looking at them again in the light of fine-tuning, don't use a sledgehammer to crack a nut!

    I prefer a swift kick.

Wish Soul Harvest animation would be turned into a Kick and the cast time removed. The cast time is so clunky.

What’s weird is that GW2 has been doing the same thing this year: There have always been nerfs and adjustments, but this past year some specs that have been around for over five years are just being destroyed. I mained Druid for a long time the crushing uncalled for nerfs this past spring just make me some combination of mad or sad when I try to play them. :(

I bring this up because I wonder whether it is coincidence or if devs in general perceive this as a desirable direction. Refinements are good and necessary but I don’t understand what the desired outcome is here.

Seriously, OP, I respect what you're saying and your view on this matter is totally valid.

That being said, don't speak for me.

I don't recall ever mentioning you. A collective we is not an all-encompassing we, frankly you are not that important and neither am I. But if you want to be Private Pedantic then I will rephrase it as:

"However if this becomes less fun then the other things will become more attractive and we, with the exception of Gnome_Saiyan who will make their own decision, and anyone else who doesn't want to be included in a collective we, may well play this less and the other more.

They should give us 1.6 servers and promise us to never touch this version of the game with their noob hands.
I used to think that PvP was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy.

They do this every patch for one reason....Money. They screw over people’s builds so they have to farm more mats, spend more gold and grind more to be the meta. Ultimately this makes you play more and possibly buy more crowns. Only problem is I think people are finally catching on to this bs and moving on to other games.

You may be right, it's a cynical view but why else would they make such sweeping changes. As I said, a game of this age should be fine-tuning, this is the kind of stuff done in a Beta release. Well, the players will only take so much before moving on, that's exactly what they did in STO and that game is dying now.

Nah, the game needs big changes because powercreep has gone through the roof, top DPS reached 90k which is about double it was a couple of years ago, that is broken.

Then increase the HP and damage output of the NPCs, don't *** the game for a handful of PvPers!

I also pay for this game and in my opinion the changes are good. Balance has to be achieved before you can enjoy the game. DoTs are getting balanced. I will be able to enjoy ESO again. TY ZOS, keep going!

I find this interesting. The exact same arguments appeared all the time in SWTOR. PvPers seemed to be vocal enough for changes to be made that upset the larger group of PvEers.

SWTOR in itself got so dumbed down over time, to accomodate new players I imagine, that I suspect this will be the real tell-tale that ZOS are going down the same path.

Yup, but buffing the Damage Skills(I mainly am looking at Necro here..) and Self Survival, nerfing Healers and already bad DPS Classes(in comparsion to others) more is not a Solution.

lol it's cute that you think the top DPS won't find a way to keep their DPS numbers. But hey lets just ignore that and do something stupid and screw over the majority of the player base. because that is logical. you can spout your delusions all you want. these changes wont fix a damn thing except only further the skill gap and make even less of the player base able to complete the content. have fun

Please don't presume to speak for all of "Us". I've played since beta and I can honestly say not one patch or change to the game has caused me any bit of distress. Everyone's play style is different and we all enjoy different aspects of the game. There, as usual, will be much complaining and saber rattling. Some people will leave, new people will join, and other former players will continue to return. If a person can't deal with changes and it causes such distress then perhaps it's time to move on.

The way people go on and on about constant massive nerfs you'd think we were all limp biscuits sitting in a puddle of tea. I know we're hitting higher PvE dps than ever and the main PvP complaint is related to DoTs doing too much damage.

The 90k is on the raid dummy the 45ks from a year ago were on 6m dummys, my dps is *** i know about 30k on a 6m and 50k on a 20m (trash pots and cheep food as practicing rather then doing a formal parse) so 90k would probably be about 54k on a 6m dummy.

And as stated by others few players achieve those sort of numbers and the nerfs are unlikely to affect their play but are likely to put content out of my reach.

Well get ready for a flashback to 2 years ago if the PTS stays the same. Hope they were good times for you...

Test dummy parses while standing still are 1 thing completely different from:

Knowing boss mechanics, being able to self heal and mitigate high damage while kiting and still dishing out DPS. In pug groups as DPS while ideally I would run 2x destro, I still run destro/restro and a build that sacrifices DPS for more damage mitigation and self healing. 25k DPS isn't bad if you can still do it while doing all of the above imo.

I was a good customer before, buying crowns and all. Since months and months I refuse to buy anything, and I spend more and more of my leisure time on other games. That's what you get when you only provide nerfs and extremely bad performances. Simple as that. Customers will move on.
