63% reductions in damage on skills that are 5+ years old is NOT tweaking

What is going on over there? A game this old with this many players should be balancing combat with 2%-10% changes NOT 63% changes! This isn't combat balance, this is a complete change in the system. Does anyone have a plan?

It would appear not amongst the combat team. I wouldn't be surprised if the players had a few plans up their sleeves though.

It's called balancing for PvP and not really caring about PvE like always.

    Closer to 17 years.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

It was interesting to me how during the whole twitch stream they basically only talked about PvP issues. And totally ignored any issues in PvE. None of the these changes were done for PvE because Wheeler does not care about PvE.

When they started with the new sets for Dragonhold, they spoke specifically in terms of PvE. This is not a PvE vs PvP thing. Idk how long you’ve been playing, but currently DPS is out of control in PvE, these reductions in damage are a good thing! When VMoL first came out the requirements were 20-25k! That’s it! Now top guilds require much larger parses. This is a move in the right direction. Also all under the hood adjustments benefit both PvE and PvP. I suggest going back and rewatching. They even mention their specialized team that runs through the content was still able to complete the content. You’re seriously naïve if you think otherwise.
    Great changes all around!

No its not. Dont be a wet blanket. No one was asking for 50-62% nerfs. 10% like the OP stated maybe. Entropy perhaps more due to it being a multi function utility skill.

Mate... People in forum believe that there is NO power creep in PvE and every nerf is because PvP. Don't even try talk to them. That doesn't work.

No, what they said is true, but what you spouted was false. When talking about all the skill nerfs, they pretty much only mentioned PvP. DPS nerfs are not needed in PvE at all, this is not a positive. The top .001% of raid guilds being able to clear vet trials quickly is in no way evidence that PvE dps is too high. And you would know this, if you actually ran vet trials yourself. I'm both a PvPer and a longtime vet trials player, and can say with certainty that the combat team doesn't have even the slightest clue what they are doing with these changes. They're despicable and unacceptable, and it's utterly shocking that anyone who actually gets paid to do this could be so utterly terrible at it.

Every time I look in these forums, there are multiple threads complaining that the game is too easy. Forum vets can do everything there is to do with one hand, blindfolded. It doesn't matter what race you pick or gear you choose, you can do everything naked on a hybrid Nord anyway. Make everything harder pls.

Ok, have a sweeping damage nerf.

Maybe that's what's going on over there.

Beta player. Consistent sub since beta.

Every change was about cyrodiil. Every one. Bad mount change? Cyrodil. Bad dizzying swing change? PvP. It went on and on and I am not the only person who noticed.

They kept having to say "Our dungeon team says this is alright" because all they talked about was PvP AND neither of them are on the dungeon team.

    Let that sink in.

The guy who is in charge of combat does not run dungeons.

They did not say "I ran some of the dungeons and they still can be done", no, some "other people" say dungeons can still be cleared. He does not know or care how the dps works in those dungeons. If he did care about pve, they would not have given bosmers "hunter's eye", that alone is proof enough.

Right now there are people who can BARELY clear some vet dungeons. Now they will not be able to. Yes people who were doing amazing dps will be taken down a few notches, but the rest of the people are going to suffer. They even said that lowering the dps for people "killing dragons" was not a concern for them.

They said the quiet part loud (by mistake).

And if you think doing 20-25k damage in vMOL equals a clear of that trial I don't know where you would be getting that info. In ESO that is considered one of the harder trials and now it will be that much harder due to the nerfs.

Zos is reworking everything over the course of a year+ in an attempt to get the game so they can manage it better as they have clearly struggled so far.. This is not mere tweaking for balance.

We are playing the game in the "here and now", and saying things all be better in a year+ is of little comfort.

Changes to meta, meta-gear, skills, every patch? Create a adequate build one patch and by the next patch it is unusable.

Creates a DOT meta and then nerfs the DOTs' so much that no one will be using them next patch. Why?

Quit making drastic changes every single patch.

lol, even the werewolves that hit like a wet noodle in pvp are getting another 50% nerf to their bleed damage. I had 5 ww toons before scalebreaker, now i'm down to 2. After this, it will be 0. I now really enjoy seeing ww's in cyrodiil, i know they are easy ap. I don't think i will see anymore after the next update.

Not only that, but they are nerfing dots that have not changed in 5 years. All they need to do is revert the 2 skills that caused all this DOT outcry (entropy and soul trap) and all will be back to normal with dots.

Hey, I agree that if Zos actually thought this through as they said they have then they should have been able to do all this in one update. Tear off the band aid and get it over with. However, I think they are just making this up as the go vs the "cofied vision for the game".

Regardless, my comment was in reference to the OPs statement. If you want to argue with me about this then find someone else because it is what it is.

vMoL kicks groups butts because they do not follow mechanics. The DPS creep (creep isn't even really accurate as the DPS increase has been huge) allowed many groups to avoid mechanics almost entirely. With the changes maybe they will have to learn the mechanics again. That isn't a bad thing.

Don't forget that all those skills 1) have been changed over the years and 2) have been boosted by ever increasing CP.

Ffs I can solo all IC bosses and people can kill Voriak Solkyn before he teleports to his roiling cloud in vMA - yes dps has gotten out of hand. This needs to be addressed in order for them to end the moratorium on the CP increase.

For me this game is so done. They have gone completely crazy with the nerfs. Forget fixing any of the numerous bugs and performance issues. Oh well I could care less at this point. Was a good run. Stuck with the game since beta but now just Tired of complaining and having to adjust to their constant changes every update.

I have always played a stamina Nightblade bow/2h or DW build. For me their is no adjusting to the bow changes in this upcoming update. ZOS has gone completely bonkers.
