I used to, then for a long time I stopped doing it and would always run to the nearest wayshrine and teleport to the one closest to my destination. Although sometimes I'll do a run round an area spcifically to look for materials, especially after doing my crafting surveys - whichever map I'm on at the time I'll just stay on until my inventory is full.

Recently I've been trying to stop myself using wayshrines so much and get back into the habit of running to my destination if I have the time and the inclination to do so. I'm better about doing that in Guild Wars 2 (if I'm honest I suspect it's just because you always have to pay for wayshrines in that game) but I'm getting back into the habit in ESO as well, and I've found a lot more treasure chests, furnishing plans and other stuff as a result.

I love running around the world.

I do remember back during release year, there was a player who walked everywhere. I mean toggle walk/run was set to Walk. I would see this person all over the game world too.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

yes did this before. However I don't care for the base game areas, they are so low quality now.

not any longer since the duration of rapid manoever was nerfed down from 30 to 8 seconds.

Meaning that this nerf destroyed what I loved most in this game. Exploring, harvesting, enjoying the beauty of the landscape, discovering many small nice details.

Rumor has it they quit after a year, when they reached level 10. :)

More seriously, I tend to not use wayshrines, but I need to run, or at least have a horse. Walking would cause me serious mental distress. :)

I am actually loving the fact the it gives both speed buffs now, even at a shorter duration. Makes jog speed a bit faster, and generally when you are out of combat you regenerate enough stamina to cast it indefinitely.

for stamina characters. My grand master harvester/crafter is magicka based, and the nerf just frustrating.

The balancing team is too focussed on combat issues, forgetting that many players do not play to fight, but because they love(d) the openworld exploration character of the game.

I am a magicka healbot, so I do not have a massive stamina pool. I still feel like the nerf was fine. And while I agree that exploration is a viable form of gameplay (I enjoy it myself), we can't expect a non-combat portion of the game to influence the other 95% of combat gameplay.

they simply could have applied the nerf to become active in cyro/IC/BGs only. Problem solved.
It is as badly designed as faction lock, fixes one issue, causes many others.

While I am for faction lock I do not want to derail this thread by changing the subject, let us agree to disagree on the basis of the change. Instead I bring up this as a discussion changer, have you ever seen Reaper's March at night??

not intending to change the topic, just adding another example of how the "fixes" have severe sideeffects if you just focus on one issue.

I'm glad that rapid manoever works fine for you, for me it does not.
And thus this destroyed the exploration fun for me.

We can leave it with this statement, as I have nothing more to add.

Maybe not "the world" but I went around Wrothgar three or four times during the event collecting every dang node I saw.

I usually do this in all events with double resources.

I saw either that guy or another guy doing the same thing in Vulkhel Guard not long before Summerset was released. He was called something like Ungur the Unhurried and he'd ride a horse but with walk toggled on, everywhere he went.

He might well still be there, but my crafter finally got to move to the main island so I've not been back to Auridon much.

From time to time I will go to a zone I haven't been to for a while and just roam around. I'm trying to finish up trophy achievements on my main so when I am playing her I tend to run around all over instead of using waysharines.

Shortly after the game came out I tried to swim around a couple of zones. I couldn't find one I could swim completely around because of slaughterfish. Got close though.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
